“Refurbished” electronics, that doesn’t carry real implications?

It’s just USED, maybe wiped off?
Take this mouse for example...
https://www.ebay.com/itm/SteelSeries-Rival-310-Gaming-Mouse-RGB-Lighting-12-000-CPI/143037740571?epid=10021692414&hash=item214db6b61b:g:mVIAAOSwC85cBNa9
That company does not refurbish products, period. So, it’s a used mouse that the seller refurbished? Wiped off with a cloth is refurbishing? Does this term imply anything more?

Your son lost in kicks from the mark.

The only way I would buy "refurbished" anything would be from the manufacturer with a warranty. These other guys are frauds and use "refurbished" as a synonym for "used".

Loosely translates to my ex-wife is turning my son into a girl.
I kid, I kid. I like soccer.

I’m letting him drop out of ODP. Oh well.

I read on their site they do not refurbish or have any authorized shops that do, I just wonder how this term gets used so frequently.

It could be just wiped off or it could have been dropped many times and in 3 weeks it starts giving you problems. Either way, I wouldn't consider buying it.

Refurbished can be a loose term. I bought a refurbished 2017 IBM model computer ( can’t remember model #) with a 23’ inch screen normally $750 range new for $400 shipped to the house from Amazon. Never even looked like it was turned on or used. I think it was returned by a person or company. It was not in its original box so there’s that. Who knows im a year later and works great for my needs and saved a few bucks taking the chance.

You can get ridiculous deals on refurbished iPads. With warranty from Apple.

For 14 more bucks, you can have a brand new one.

Some items are "refurbished" are actually just older models that are still NIB, but they're just unloading them, sometime with limited warranties.

If I buy a refurbished electronic i buy from the manufacturer. I have bought a couple refurbished Apple laptops over the years. They carry the same warranty as a brand new one for about 300 to 500 less.
I wouldn't buy something like that refurbished anyway. For another 10 to 15 bucks I can buy a brand new one with a brand new warranty so what is the point?

I know a guy who works in design engineering at Canon. He says their refurbished cameras are better than new as they are hand-rebuilt and have twice the number of QC checks as new products. They come with full warranty and cost less.
I doubt many companies do that.
