Using chrome as your browser and installing the RES (Reddit Enhancement Suite) extension makes all the difference in the world. Try going to r/all every now and again to stumble on new subreddits to subscribe to, and block as much of the political crap as you can and it is much better.

What is so difficult? The front page is just an aggregate of all the popular threads. It would be like you going to one page on TD, and all of the best threads on tRant, OT, OB, etc were filtered to one page.

That's what the new Trending link that got added with the redesign does. It's really sad to see what gets the most traffic most of the time.

its actually a better interface than TD, in many ways. for example, this forum handles large threads terribly
brb scrolling through 80 pages to find the 1 or 2 good posts in the entire thread

I do enjoy how reddit allows (or contains) side conversations to a nested thread.
