Apparently it's not making a dent in Baton Rouge's weed sales.

The whole city reeks of it.

Anytime you see this phrase come out of a politicians mouth, the retards are getting involved and the only companies who will benefit will be the big ones while consumers and small businesses will eventually get boned

is like 3 weed shops in every strip mall. If 75% of them go out of business there will still be a store every block or so. The strong ones will survive.

Probably 2-3 owners for all the different shops. Shutting down 1 location isn't that big of deal to them. They will just open a new one in the next hot strip mall location.

There is a shite load of protectionism and cronyism in the weed industry. Anything heavily regulated will favor a few select people.

Across the US, the legalized marijuana industry is buckling under the strain of plunging prices, patchwork state regulation, and burdensome taxes, analysts and industry groups say.

Welcome to the business world in a blue state. Suck it up buttercups. You wanted it.

But even while sales soar, dispensaries say eking out a profit is growing harder, as a glut of weed production pushes prices lower -- a boon for blissed-out pot consumers, but a bane for growers and retailers.

So basically they can’t turn off the tap of supply and supply is pulling on the curve. That sounds like a them problem.

Sadly, the legal cannabis markets demanded by countless Americans are on the verge of collapse if common sense, practical reforms are not enacted urgently,' the National Cannabis Industry Association (NCIA) warned in a report this month.

marijuana advocates for decades..”if you legalize it.. you can tax it!!!”

Marijuana advocates after getting exactly what they wanted……

“Cut taxes!!! This business stuff is hard!! We wanted to just chill out and watch easy money till in!!”

The demand is not as great as the supply. Guess what happens? The price drops.

Need to allow growing/testing across state lines.

They ain't checking for herb broseph.

At most they will confiscate and send you on your way. You could probably have about a pound before you get a ticket and the product confiscated. And, then sent on your way.

I've never understood why people are terrified to fly with some flower.

That article is either missing details or horribly off. It says Cali sales are most for any state at $423 mil, there’s 23 states that it is legal, and the gross sales are $26 bil? That math is showing it should be under $10 bil in sales?

Given that, I don’t see how a $10-26 bil industry is ‘on the verge of collapse’?

I know noting about the legal pot industry. But if I had to guess there are too many distributors and the industry is going to begin to consolidate as bigger operations with more capital to invest gobble up the smaller mom & pop operations.

I’d compare it to the auto industry in its early days. There were a ton of auto manufacturers, most of which people today have never heard of. But as the industry grew and matured, the larger manufacturers pushed the smaller ones out. This process continued until domestic auto production gelled into what we now know as the “Big Three”.

I want people to quit crying when they get what they want and advocated for. And for delicate pricks to understand those icky things like taxes are shared across the business climate.

Undoubtedly before they got their baptism into business and the nuances of running one… they were two feet on the throttle for “pay your fair share”

If its ever legalized nationally yes.

The current state regulations (dissociated) make your market small and profits almost non existent. Everything from cultivation to distribution has to be done in State. Make it legal to transport across state lines to distribute commercially, it becomes cheap everywhere.
