My aunt (blood) & uncle had two sons and when they passed away, they gave everything to their oldest son, the youngest son got the shaft. I wouldn’t say they were wealthy, they lived pretty comfortably, they owned a lot of land in the northern part of the state which they leased out to hunting clubs and also used the timber on the land for extra income. Any way, I was told that they cut out their youngest, because of his addiction to drugs and alcohol and they were afraid he might sell off some of the land if they gave him any to support his habit. They wanted to keep the land in the family. That is second hand information so I don’t how true that is.

What would be your reasons for cutting out an heir?

Learn grammar and punctuation.

And to answer your question,

addiction to drugs and alcohol

Why would I give my money I worked for to some dumbass who's going to blow it on meth and Busch Light?

Eta: also learn what a run on is

Seems like a good enough reason to me. Although they are deceased, they wouldn't want the guilt of him killing himself due to money he was gifted by them.

I love the drama that death creates when it comes to wills. The weak hands get shafted and then they cry about it and 9/10 times it's the right call.

I thought in LA you're not allowed to cut one of your children out, unless they're adopted

Dam, that’s cold. Maybe he earned his way to being cut out but if they cut him out just because they were worried he’d blow it all, there’s ways around that. They coulda put him on a fixed income or parameters that stated “if he does X, he gets Y”. There’s endless ways to keep somebody in check. But like i said, maybe he earned it

Man that would be a shitty way to find out you’re adopted.

i was told from a very young age that if either my brother myself got a tat, we were out of the will. my mom has often joked about it how one of us should be rooting for the other to get one to get the whole lot. Im not sure how sincere she really is/was, however for her to even say it, was enough for me to never want to consider getting one. so yea... tattoos
