In almost every case that i have read about, the patient was sent home from the ED at least once to continue getting worse. May have had better outcomes if treatment started sooner...

Not dignifying the rest of your comment about this woman. She was just a regular red blooded American who happened to pick this crap up just going to church. Saw a story about her on TV and she looked to have a grandson who was a Marine. She did not appear to be overweight but that is a moot point. She was a productive member of society taken too young. Not that it matters but Tom Hanks is only a year younger and like her has diabetes. Should he die because of his "old age" and should this lady be disparaged because of hers?

I didn’t say we should stop taking precautions: wash your hands whenever you arrive somewhere and as soon as you get home. Use hand sanitizer or rubbing alcohol in between washes. Don’t shake hands with people. Avoid large gatherings. If you’re elderly or immunocompromised consider self quarantine. If you’re sick stay at home. If you have a cough and fever call a doctor.
Offices with the ability to let people work from home should do so. If you have to go to work use common sense and wash your hands and clean your area.
I simply argue that the gov should not mandate shutdowns and needs in the daily lives of private businesses. Advise and inform the public of what’s going on, but do not legislate specific actions into businesses. The private sector is more than capable of handeling this situation.
Illness and death happens in this world. It’s a sad and often depressing reality of the world we live in. We cannot grind the country to a halt for a virus that frankly doesn’t have the research to back up the narrative the media keeps pushing.

My mom is in the hospital right now with stage 4 lung cancer. Last week she developed pneumonia and was later sent to to ICU. Yesterday she got moved out of ICU and into a regular hospital room because the pneumonia had gotten better. So, as weak and frail is she is from lung cancer and radiation, her body was able to fight off the pneumonia (with the help of doctors and medicine of course).
