You know who lost his cool and initiated the violence, Rayshard.

You have no clue on how an investigation like this is SUPPOSED to be managed.

Police (and citizens) can use deadly force when they are protecting themselves from death OR great bodily harm. It’s an OR...a Taser, that incapacitates you is great bodily harm.

If some stranger, who has already punched me in the face, then tries to taze me...and I have a gun...they are getting shot. This would be justified self defense. Again, Tazers incapacitate you. I don’t have to wait around to see what criminal would do next.

Same rules for police. Why is this so hard for people to understand?

The police chief didn’t fire him. She resigned. The retarded mayor called for him to be fired.

Actually, You’re getting arrested if he’s running away like he was and you shoot him

He was shot twice in the back per the medical examiner.

The cop that shot him was incapable of performing his job. Period.

You actually think that because someone is running away they can use force that will cause death or great bodily harm against you and you can’t defend yourself? So someone can shoot at you while running away, and you just have to sit there and take it? That’s not what the law says.

In some states, you have a duty to retreat, but that obviously doesn’t apply to police, whose job is to chase these idiots.

They probably fired him because they were embarrassed two of their officers couldn’t subdue this guy and then one of them got disarmed by the drunk a-hole. If only the Benny Hill theme was playing while this all went down.

Seem he did his job perfectly. Protected his partner who was being attacked with a taser.

If you have a gun & are chasing someone with a taser, you are going to jail.

Not sure what you don’t understand

Apparently his boss, and his bosses boss, disagrees with your internet educated opinion on this.

It's true. My disdain for leo is quite rampant. I don't like taking their side ever, and even find minutiae to bitch about... but this ain't it. I would expect to get shot (at) 100/100 times if I pulled this.

Chasing is a crime in NOLA now? No wonder that place is such a shithole.

I suspect the mayor demanded the chief fire him, and the chief did fire him, but resigned because of it. If she had refused to fire him, she probably could have been fired for insubordination.

Chasing someone with a gun isn’t necessarily against the law. There are many legitimate reasons you could be chasing someone while you have a gun. He just broke into your house and raped your daughter, and killed your wife. You call the police, get your gun and are chasing him, he turns and tries to taze you...yes...you can kill him. You chasing him armed, was perfectly legal. The moment that he uses force against you that can cause great bodily harm...the kill is lawful. What about this do you not understand?
