Raw milk is wonderful if you have your own cows or you live very near a sustainable farm.

For all the people out there wringing their hands over people wanting to consume raw milk, there is absolutely nothing wrong with fresh raw milk as long as you arent letting it sit for a few days or you have unsanitary conditions in which it is being milked or shortly stored.

The early part of my life I had raw milk daily in rural Mississippi and never once had a problem myself or knew anyone else in our family or other families around me that had problems.

One of the MAIN reasons for pasteurization was more for the mass production of milk as we moved from a more rural society to one where people lived in cities and neighborhoods and having your own cow for fresh milk wasn't practical.

Raw milk has myriad benefits for nutrition and one of the main reasons you see so much push back against it.

Also the pasteurization process allowed for large companies to make millions(billions in today's $) when it first became used at the factory in the milk production process.

In the 1940s Victor Rothschild made an address to the UK Parliament to push for pasteurization for the 'good of the public' but it was more for the good of his family wealth. At the time he owned the ONLY factory in England capable of processing and packaging milk for mass distribution in the country.

All that being said, I dont really suggest people go out to shops and buy raw milk just because you really dont know the source. I would stick with either a local farm that is very near by, or if it's somebody you really trust.

What are the real health benefits of raw milk vs pasteurized milk?

I’ve always wanted to try raw milk.

I’d try raw milk, but milk in general is disgusting.

Damn dude, I’d punch you in the nose if you came up to be unsolicited with this nonsense.

Raw milk is pretty good once you strain the blood and puss out of it.

Raw milk tastes better than pasteurized milk as well, creamier. I've been drinking raw milk for over a year now. My family has had no issues from it.

Agreed.

Might as well be sheep’s milk for the vast majority of these people that are suddenly consuming raw milk.

I think I'll stick to my pasteurized lactose free milk. Genetics weren't kind to me on being able to process lactose.

When I worked at OLOL in Baton Rouge, we had a 5 year old die after drinking raw milk. The cow can be a carrier for a bacteria that doesn't affect the cow but is pathogenic for humans. I don't feel like risking it.

Yep. Trump told them to drink raw milk so they do. This reminds me of when Trump told them to drink fish cleaner during Covid
