From 0 to Hell, zero being best possible.

3'ish
Pros:
Income was surprisingly great (like all OT'ers)
Cons:
Put down my 14 y/o golden retriever a couple weeks ago
Put down our 14 y/o ragdoll cat back in March. Dude was awesome.
Lockins are depressing

I had a great year. Still have my job and my health.

I'm going to look back on 2020 as a year with some soaring highs and just crushing lows. And honestly, 99% of both have nothing to do with Covid or things impacted by Covid.
I fully expect the "highs" will be more memorable and I'll eventually have a pretty favorable memory overall.

Having things canceled due to covid sucked. Wearing masks blows. But I still worked normal throughout it. Lsu won the natty and I was there. I took all my vacations like normal. I saw stupid protests on tv, but none affected my life. I guess 5/10 and that’s only because of events being canceled.

It was great for me. Got a new nephew and the pandemic didn’t effect me in any way

The year started off great, then I got an unpaid two-month vacation. Went back to work and made more money than ever before. I'd say it went pretty well.

2020 hasn’t been that bad for my wife and I.
My wife is pregnant for our first
We haven’t been out of work at all
Went on a Euro vacation right before the outbreak
Went on 3 other smaller trips post outbreak
My FIL did have to have a major surgery in May, and my brother lost his job, so those two things have been pretty shitty. And sure we had small inconveniences like less dining out, bars, etc... while having to wear a mask, but that’s small peanuts in the grand scheme.
I’d rate it a solid 7 for us.
I do realize that we are very fortunate and that this year has been pretty awful for a large swath of the population.

Not a great year, but it isn't like we are fighting WWII. Pre-Internet this would have been a fairly normal year.

2020 was an oweo post
took too look
made no sense
pissed everybody off
when it's done, good riddance
and hope we never experience another one like it

I’ve been thinking about this a lot this week trying to put it into perspective.
I started the year losing out on a really big bonus due to a technicality. Listed our house the week before the covid lockdowns, ended up signing 4 contracts before one finally stuck and we closed in June. Had to fork over a good bit of profit due to something really stupid we had to do over a decade ago with our home. Lost out on a trip with my wife alone for the first time really since our honeymoon and lost out on taking my son to Disney World for his first trip. I’ve been at work busting my arse through this whole ordeal while many people have been at home collecting full salary. After we bought our new house, I hit a deer on my way to work and totaled my truck which I had almost paid for and had to buy a new one.
But there’s little things about this year I’ll never forget. A little over 4 years ago I made the decision to change careers. It was scary as I was walking away from an industry I knew very well to something I knew nothing about. But that decision completely changed the course of our lives for my family. It’s given me the ability to buy a wonderful home that I couldn’t have dreamed of affording before. 5 years ago I found myself in a very similar situation with my vehicle with a lot of late nights trying to fix things myself and figure out how I could move money around to make it work. When I hit the deer I was pissed but never stressed out about buying a new vehicle. It really made me realize just how far we’ve come. Losing profit on my house sucked especially because it was unexpected, but it literally closed the book on that phase of my life as it was the last bad debt I was still carrying.
We’re all safe and healthy, we’ve got a wonderful home, and I feel like a grownup. I guess that’s all a man can ask for.
