Rash of misdelivered mail

Do any of you have this problem?
We will receive "package delivered" emails and nothing is in mailbox. Sometimes a neighbor will return misdelivered parcels. Too many times we never hear what becomes of it.
Local post office appears lost every time I check in about it. I have unsuccessfully emailed USPS about this, too. The trend seems continued after yesterday.
OT advice?

At least it's being delivered.

We have one letter carrier who is always on time and delivers accurately. It's an absolute clown show when someone else runs the route.

It’s a rash of misdelivered packages.
The proper term is a CLUTCH of misdelivered mail.

Stop using USPS if it isn’t working for you.

USPS sucks like all government run organizations. Gotta deal with it.

I stopped a while ago. Amazon and other vendors use it. I'm at the receiving end not sending.

My wife sent out two identical Christmas gifts a few days before Christmas. From Baton Rouge - one to Alexandria and one to New Roads.
My friend in Alexandria got his before Christmas. The one scheduled to go to New Roads says it's still at the post office. She called and all they could say was sometimes this happens

We had one of these... then she just retired. It's been a shite show ever since.

You may need to verify your shipping information. I got a text a couple weeks ago saying they couldn’t deliver a package for that reason. Just had to send them a Target gift card from my current address for verification.

Talk to the post master at your local post office.

All I see mostly are black females that work for the USPS. So the demographics of the work force can’t be the issue.

Did you order something? If you are not expecting something then a lot of times these are scams to get your payment information or additional other information. The elderly are usually targets of this scam.

This type of scam has exponentially increased over the last year. One thing to remember, USPS will only email or text you concerning the status of a package when you initiated the request to receive status updates on a specific tracking number.
The biggest scam we are seeing now is receiving a text message from “US Post”saying due to an incomplete address, your package is being held. They are wanting you to click through and they are asking you to pay a nominal fee, to redirect your package to you. I have seen fees from .03 cents to $5.00. A majority of these texts are showing they come from the Philippines (+63 phone code). There are only two types of fees USPS charges to receive mail. A package intercept fee of $17.50 which is only initiated by the sender or receiver and there are fees for Premium Forwarding service which only the customer initiates.
USPS will not send you a text or email saying we are holding your package due to an incomplete address.

Back in the day it was a respectable career. My grandfather was a mailma after leaving the Navy. As was a friend’s dad. Now it’s a joke.
