RANT: Jobs that want your resume, but also ask you to manually fill in your jobs

What's up with this? This is such an outdated and antiquated way to do things. Most companies have it where you post you resume and it auto-fills this part.

All boxes: “see resume”
Posted on 3/5/23 at 6:30 pm to Arthur Bach
if you want me youll fill out the boxes yourself

What's up with corn nuts? Is it corn or is it a nut?

Notch it as a red flag. I've never continued with any application that never had you simply submit a resume image. I'm not wasting my time copying and pasting my resume into individual text blocks.

Because the automated resume reader system sucks

I did one the other day and it is a PITA. Complete waste of 45 minutes. Can't the organization/recruiter open and print your uploaded resume? It should be an either/or thing.

The fields are used to filter people automatically

If you can't follow simple instructions, even if it is a MINOR inconvenience, I don't want you working for my company anyway.

It’s used to make useless HR positions even more useless.

if you cant streamline your application process to match your competitors, its not a good luck for your company and makes me not want to work for it

Strange way of saying that your company has outdated application practices and none of your hiring employees can simply read a resume image.

Exactly. That's why my company makes you submit a pdf resume, fill in the blanks, then send in a cursive handwritten paper copy via certified mail, all with the same info.

Just put your pronouns, he/she/trans/goth/democrats and you will be hired, resume or not.

Hopefully you’re not allowed to write anything of importance at your company. If you have a job.

I’ve been applying to over 200+ jobs. I don’t have time for the 1% or companies that want this. NO big companies do it this way.

I’m today’s job market, qualified and competent candidates are interviewing you, not the other way around.

I sometimes wonder if these liberals(I’m a right leaning liberal) don’t realize companies don’t want the hassle of pandering to the pronoun bullshite.

Jobs in my industry are best approached with a shotgun, if it was an opening at a company not in the top tier of my preferences, I just skipped it.

Honestly, if the salary is right, I’d rather work for your company. Clearly the expectations are lower.
