I just went from an F150 to a Sierra
The Sierra is just a better looking truck, and the V8 gets a good deal better mileage than my ecoboost ever did.
I have no complaints after a year.

I have a 2014 Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn in Western Brown with the Hemi and everything but air suspension. Absolutely love it.
For your purposes, buy a Limited/Platinum Tundra. I sell used cars and nothing in the half ton class lasts like Tundras do.

2015 I went to buy a new truck. Always been partial to Ford F150 but then came along the Laramie 1500 4x4 EcoDiesel. For the money and options couldn't go wrong. To my surprise it has plenty of pulling power and the 4x4 is very strong. To each their own.

If you have no preconceived bias, pick one you like the best. Each one has a pro and con and everybody has an opinion on each one. If you have no brands loyalty, pick which best suits your needs. They're all different and have strengths and weaknesses. I've had all three for either work or personal and can give you likes and dislikes all day long on each one.

Tundra is the best. I put a 250,000 miles or so on my last and NEVER put a wrench on it except to change the oil, brake shoes and one tune up. The battery lasted 7 years--it was a Panasonic. Traded it this summer it was an 08 and I got a 17---I absolutely love it. IF there are any 18s out check up the safety upgrades.
Used to be a Ford man and I can tell for long term value and cost the Tundra cannot be beat.
One other truck that I know to be very good is the new Titan

Why are you not looking at Sierras? That's what I have as a second vehicle and love it. I got the SLT package.

Every single person I know that has swallowed their pride and bought a Tundra say they will never buy another brand of truck.

This is what I have. Love the truck. I am a GMC guy.

I just don't care for the way they look or the price. Plus, I'm at 130k on my current one and that's the most miles I've ever put on a vehicle

What exactly is embarrassing about getting a Tundra?

Given your options I go Silverado. If Toyota was an option then I’m buying Toyota
Well Toyota wasn't an option, but it was implied he wants a truck...a real truck...well NVM he was talking about 150/1500 series... probably should go with Toyota/Chevy/Ford, in that order...frick Dodge unless you want maintenance and a short life span.

Nothing embarrassing.
They just had to get over their Ford or Chevy bias.

With that kind of money I would find a cream puff older truck from an estate or on eBay. I just can't stand any of the new trucks.

Have fun paying for fluid flushes and an engine reseal.
