Had a friend at my last job that had a kuhl jacket. It looked great, and I agree it went with biz casual better than any Columbia Patagonia or marmot.
However, as long as you get a conservative color, one of those brands will be fine for what you are looking for. I have a marmot I really like in dark green.
Btw I think kuhl is from Portland, so light rain is more a part of life. So a hybrid type of jacket that is weather resistant but also good looking is practical.

I've got a Columbia that you could wear in a monsoon and stay dry.

There are some nice sailing jackets our there that work well in the rain. One brand is Salty Dog I believe.

So it rains a lot in LA. I just bought this rain jacket and use it all the time. It's light, breathes and can be worn whenever. It's expensive but Acteryx is the Ferrari of rain jackets.

For business casual I have a Dubarry Derg rain jacket in navy. It has a hood that you can hide in the collar. It's been awesome.
