Just said gunshot wound.

My first thought was self-inflicted but Ferguson says homicide detectives are on the scene.

This fricking city is a literal zoo I am counting down the days before I'm out of here

All that is being reported is that is was a female officer who had been on the force for 9 years. Police were sent to the house to do a welfare check and found her dead. RIP.

Can't really link radio.
Was hoping someone here knew more.

Sounds like suicide was possible because it was discovered during a welfare check and the cold case detectives are in charge of investigating per WWL870

All suicides are treated as homicides until proven otherwise.

off duty cop killed herself

LINK

quote:

Ferguson said he couldn’t comment further as the officer’s family was still in the process of being notified but did say that the officer was a 36-year-old woman and a 9-year veteran of the force.

Police responded in the 5000 block of Touro St. before 9 a.m. Tuesday morning after receiving calls about shouting followed by gunshots coming from a home.

The matter is not being investigated as a homicide, Ferguson said.

Aren’t pretty much all murder investigations handled like cold cases down there?

Seems kind of redundant to call it out that way.

Was it the cop banging the Destroya? Cause that could push you to the edge.

Hypothetically speaking she could’ve been on the phone arguing or upset.

The person on the other end of that call will have a lot to think about.

And in New Orleans, lots of multiple gunshot deaths ruled as suicides.

I remember when the Public Information Officer for NOPD killed himself immediately following the aftermath of Katrina by jumping off the Superdome as it was loaded with evacuees.

I will always tried to imagine how overwhelmed and hopeless he must have felt to do it like that while on the job.

Not a cool story bro, but just some thoughts. Prayers for the deceased.

No you don’t, because that didn’t happen.

Accardo shot himself in a parking lot in St. Charles Parish and was found by deputies.
