I'm in need of a quality radar detector for my SUPER COOL sedan. I've had the bottom shelf COBRA one forever now, and i'm not sure of its reliability anymore. What are the top of the line ones, and what are the alternatives that will give me a great product for not top of the line price? TIA

Yes, I like to speed on the highway sometimes. Sue me.

Escort Red Line

I've had this one for about 5 years now. Zero speeding tickets.

Dang that's a high price tag! Seems like a good product though.

I've got a K40 installed with the optional jammers. It's incredible and well worth the money.

Its pretty impressive how far away it can detect a state trooper who has his radar on.

Just run Waze on your phone to alert for police.

Valentine one was always the standard. But you usually mount under the glove box and will no longer be able to open.

Looking now they look a lot smaller and can go on dash. Hell the can sync to your phone now.

0 speeding tickets but then again, I rarely go over 10+ over the speed limit unless there's no one else around.

I have V1 + Waze + laser jammer, and still get tickets sometimes. Hard to predict instant-on radar when Waze people haven't marked a cop

Are those still a thing? I thought that was a 90's fad.

Radenso XP

It's the latest and greatest RD (best for filtering). And helps with red light and speed cameras.

Doesn't have the distance like the Escort Red Line, but provides more than ample notification without giving you constant beeps (false alarms like the Valentine 1).

Also, use Waze in conjunction with radar detector.

I've never seen someone with a radar detector in their car that wasn't also a smoker.

I use the Escort Passport 8500 X50. I am sure there are better options out there but I've had it a few years and it works fine. I only use it on the highway for long trips and have the bands that give lots of false alerts turned off. I use this in conjuction with Waze and haven't gotten a speeding ticket when using this combination.
