Chauna has attempted to torpedo every urban renewal project in Old South Baton Rouge, downtown, and Mid City due to a supposed lack of "affordable housing". F$&k her. Just another NIMBY hypocrite.

She helped shut down the mid-city Entergy development because there wasn't any section 8 right?

Yep. The reason there was no section 8 was because it would have required more federal red tape and meeting stricter building codes which the property simply wasn't built to meet. The master plan was designed to be doable without using any federal grants or programs. Of course she defeated it. It was gentrification, and that's bad because white folk pay taxes and don't shoot people and steal s$&t. It would have ruined the neighborhood's war-zone asthetic.

Plus, you know if what was proposed was luxury condos and lofts, she would have called this development gentrification, racistly ethnically cleansing NBR of blacks. She's a race-baiting, hypocritical hack.

Delgado, whose council district is in the more affluent, predominantly white, southern part of Baton Rouge, announced last week he was introducing an ordinance to turn parts of north Baton Rouge into an economic development district where property owners could be eligible for property tax breaks that would incentivize development.

I think it's pretty clear she doesn't give a shite about NBR and it's obvious what her real intentions and motivations are.

Too bad her constituents are too stupid to see the truth about her.
You'd think someone with an IQ higher than their shoe size could beat her.

She couldn't do it all by herself. Which other Metro Council idiots sided with her?

The developers are also using conventional bank financing, as well as private capital, to finance the project, which is estimated to cost more than $10 million.
That seems pretty cheap

Banks will object to any use of the term Goldilocks with regards to getting things "just right".

I'm pretty sure building houses - no matter how janky - on expensive properties in other parts of the city would disqualify said houses from being classified as low income.
Poor people can afford poor areas...that's how it is and nothing will change that.
You'd be surprised how many people can cram into a home or apartment and make it affordable. I think the government checks are usually by person.

Use the idiots that show up to that meeting to hold the developer hostage until he writes her in his will.

That's actually the rub. There is a lot of incentive and laws specifically for development of North baton rouge that been on the books for 20+ years.
No on wants to touch it with 1 mile long stick.
