There must be a shite ton of important dads out there to be able to claim "most people in management are the true lazy workers" in a thread about people admitting that they are intentionally lazy.
I personally have never worked with anyone whose daddy got them promoted, but I'll take your word for it.
So many unwarranted promotions out there, you'd think this thread would have gone down a different path than "there are no advancement opportunities for new workers, might as well just be a shitty employee."

You don't get how economics works, that's OK. It's complicated and you have to study it for years to just get the basic principles.
Here is economics.
I’ve paid x into the system.
The time value of x (opportunity cost) is 2.5 x.
I will get back .6 x.
I think I get it.

i have no idea what your point was. i was simply responding to an individual post regarding how old people spend money when they statistically do not do so at a rate that matters
the people retiring now created a system for them and have fricked everything over for us. now, when they are entering the point in times in their lives when they are at their most economically useless, they are expecting us to take care of everything they fricked up. it is what it is

Which means I get screwed way worse than you.
At least you'll get social security after paying into it. I've been paying for you damn people since high school and I'll never get a cent of it when I retire in 30-40 years. Not one cent. There's no way the system doesn't collapse before then.
The only scenario I see working out is raising the age to like 75.
Social security was never meant to be issued for 20 years. People were expected to work until they died at 65.
Maybe those longevity companies will come up with something to help us live youthful until 150 years old. That's something that could help solve the coming train wreck.

So explain why the millennial generation helped vote a walking corpse into office

You were talking about how much you paid into Healthcare. It's very unlikely you pay more in to medicaid/Medicare than you are going to use unless you get hit by a bus.
You're hard line stance that it's just people's fault if they don't make enough money makes no sense.
So I guess we have to conclude you think the economic situation in the US is fine. Ie Biden is doing a good job

You can also not get promoted for working hard.
I made an earlier comment in this vein.
Be good at your job but not too good.
If you are too good, you risk being pigeonholed and preventing from promoting up.

They didn't. The biggest misconception in politics is that young people vote. They don't. They vote at very low rates. Why do you think democrats spend so much time on ads that appeal to young people? Under 30s have never been major participants in elections. Maybe in the 60s there are some exceptions.
Aside from that, why did boomers leave a society that makes young people want to vote left?
You honestly think a Will.I.Am music video is turning young people into democrats? There's some truth in what they observe. Their solutions might be shite but their observations aren't far off.

There is zero chance I get more out of Medicare than the value I put into it unless I go into a 20 year coma.

I don't think you know how much medical care "costs" vs what you pay for it because you have insurance

If you write to sentences like that, you should quietly quit.

The peter principle guides a lot of these things.
And it is not uncommon for people to be promoted out of positions because they are too dumb to do the job.

I know it's silly but I can't help it.

For 2022, an employee will pay: 6.2% Social Security tax on the first $147,000 of wages (6.2% of $147,000 makes the maximum tax $9,114), plus 1.45% Medicare tax on the first $200,000 of wages ($250,000 for joint returns; $125,000 for married taxpayers filing a separate return), plus 2.35% Medicare tax (regular 1.45% Medicare tax plus 0.9% additional Medicare tax) on all wages in excess of $200,000 ($250,000 for joint returns; $125,000 for married taxpayers filing a separate return).
Been paying in since the mid-70s. If I’d had that money, it would be worth way, way more than I’ll ever get out.
Don’t know why this is so hard to understand.

I know the rules and the limits for SSI and Medicare.
Login to mySSA and pull up your history showing the total taxes paid in for SSI and Medicare.
