If people don’t like their POA/HOA; 3 things can be done:
1) Abide by the covenants
2) Get covenants changed
3) Move.
Simple.

Who gives a frick about trash cans!? Where are they supposed to go? What’s wrong with parking a trailer in my driveway? I bought the mother fricking house. Not you.
Trash cans and trailers may not bother you, but there's literally not a single person that can argue a house looks better with an empty driveway. They do. Some people care about how their house/ neighborhood looks. I don't see why others get so upset about this.
I've known neighborhoods that fine people if their trash can is out any day after trash day. You have from something like 6pm the previous day until 6am the following day to remove it. If you move into one of these places, I don't know why you'd get upset over it. Sure its strict, but its plenty easy to abide by and it does look nice.

Just popping in to say that this sounds like something Renaissance property management in Covington would do.
They are shady as hell. It's amazing how a growing subdivision can add 40 homes in a year yet the P&L of the subdivision shows all money is spent.

Certified mail works great and I agree wth you. These aren’t legal notices and haven’t been sent through certified mail so there goes that argument.
If they are fining you, it is legal. Maybe not through the state or county, but there are legal rules to how this can be done in your HOA. Its either in your Covenants or its in your state laws.
When I was on our HOA board, any fine we sent Certified. We also sent everything as requesting a reply from the homeowner within X amount of days. So that we knew they received it.

The issue we have run into is we recently were fined because the side of my house which doesn’t get sun had some mildew in the mornings.

The property manager sent me a list of 17 letters over the past 18 months they said were sent. We never received a single letter and we had to appeal to the board.
Ask for copies of the letters as well as records of delivery. Prior to being fined they should've sent you something via certified mail. That being said, you shouldn't have been fined. Proper procedure is for the association to schedule the required cleaning to correct the issue then asses a lien against you for the cost plus fees.
Also, your state probably has some sort of nonprofit corporation law that would govern your HOA and may also have laws specific to HOAs. Read through those for some ideas. You can probably take them to small claims court fairly easily it would seem.

You seem like a huge dickhead. If you need rules to keep people from parking cars in the front yard or cutting the grass you live around shitty people.

People are supposed to live on and enjoy their own property, not keep it as a showpiece to please their neighbors.

Question for anyone.
When looking at a house and you find out it is a part of an HOA, is there anyway to see how many liens the HOA has put on houses in the neighborhood? That way you can see how shitty the HOA has been?

Did you register your home sale with the local assessor's office?
If the HOA Management company sent that many letters they are probably sending it to the registered property owner's address and not your specific home address
I'm an outgoing HOA president and am neither a dictator or egomaniac. I did it simply because I wanted to stop the blue hair facists

The county I live in house all the land records filed online. You can search by subdivision and see everything there.

4. Take them to court.
HOA said I needed a new roof, I presented documentation from my insurance company, home inspector, and a roofing contractor indicating the roof was perfectly fine. They then fined me $100.00 per day for every day the roof was not replaced. The judge ruled the roof did not need replacing and ordered the HOA to strike the fines and pay my legal fees.

I’d rather have a good hearted and likeable neighbor with a trailer in the driveway than some douch who doesn’t like my decorations and bitches about it on next door.
You say some care about how their neighborhood looks and you don’t understand why that upsets people. I don’t understand why others opinions of the aesthetics of my home are more important than my own.

Hit the side of your house with bleach and stop being a shitty neighbor.

He said all the other houses had it too and his is the only one that got the notice. And he fixed it immediately.
Simply not pleasing some jackasses that live near you by making your home exactly to their aesthetic specifications doesn’t make you a shitty neighbor. A shitty neighbor reports people for no reason and bitches on social media.

Correct. Shitty neighbors are the ones who think they have to nitpick everyone elses property.
