No pain, lots of energy and sex six times a day. Getting old hurts.

When someone says to me "Age is just a number" I know they are either young or in denial

To be honest. Not much. I’m 51 and still do all the things I did as a young man. I just hate the fact that I’m so much closer to dying.

Saturdays.
Wake up, fix a bowl of cereal and poop down on floor to watch GOOD cartoons until 10 am.
Get dressed, yell buy to my mom as I ran out the door, grabbed my bike and headed off to meet my friends.
Spent remainder of day riding bikes all over creation, building forts in the woods, shooting turtles with our pellet rifles at the creek, playing kick ball, football, baseball at the local church field.
Coming home at dark and laughing as my mom always said pew you stink go take a shower.
Eating my moms supper- that woman could cook.
Staying up way to late playing Atari and then eventually Sega with whichever buddy stayed over for a sleepover.

Damn life was simple then.

The above is a great one: Joy in simplicity. Joy in simple objects. Joy in simple experiences. Joy that sprang from boredom--especially boredom among friends.

Young experiences. First loves. First kisses. When music and movies were important and worth discussing among friends and lovers. Long discussions about life with friends and sometimes strangers. Making fast friends.

Chasing impossible dreams. And not yet finding out the emptyness that comes from finally realizing them.

Sleep outside.

The most memorable times are when you’re sleeping outside.
