Earth's tilt gives us our seasons, not proximity to the sun...earth is actually closer to the sun during winter for North America and further away during summer. True story.

The sun is not stationary. Nothing in space is stationary. The entire solar system is moving through the Milky Way Galaxy.

The earth tilts towards and away from the sun, hence the reason we have winter and summer. Did you take basic earth science classes in elementary/middle school?
