Is that real? Wouldn't that guy on the ground have gotten jet washed?
Posted on 6/25/26 at 12:46 pm to dallastiger55
Jets also take off from that same runway in the same direction and blast their engines pretty close to that fence. See those concrete bumpers on that road by the beach? Folks have been blown into them and suffered major head trauma before. Idiots try to hold on to that fence to resist the jet blast.

Also why was that 777 at a random little airstrip in texas?
Was it getting painted there or something?
A lot of them get painted here in CHS, I see them flying over my place taking their practice flights or whatever it is they're doing. Because Qatar Airways definitely does not have flights out of here with that size plane

There's a cool bar next door that writes on a chalkboard all the planes that will be arriving and taking off.

Looks like about 350" above ground.
Posted on 6/25/26 at 1:41 pm to dallastiger55
Yeah, that's pretty crazy too.
I'm thinking if the Qatar jet's wingtip hits the ground and leads to the jet cartwheeling, that's not good.

Estimated wing tip clearance of only a few feet off the ground.
I guarantee the flight data recorder captured

Seeing those big planes in the air that low is so impressive.
These airliners are ubiquitous but they're still an impressive sight.

Don’t have to be a fighter pilot to buss the tower

In Iraq the Kiowa's and Blackhawks would do it. I'll have to look ,but I think I have a video. This Captain for 4/6th Cav would depart directly at us in the tower in a Blackhawk would bank right and was maybe 20 feet over us. We also did a reenlistment ceremony on the catwalk of the tower where me another guy in my company are holding the flag and a Kiowa is hovering right over as the reenlistment is happening with my commander and another soilder. I have to look ,but I think I have that picture. Good times.
