Is the Defender obligated to put the gun down and fight like a man with his fists?
Is the Defender obligated to run away? If so, what if the Attacker chases him?
How far do you say that the Defender must keep stepping backwards as he Attacker continues to advance towards him with continuing expression of Attacker's intent to inflict physical harm on the Defender? How far? 10 yards? 50 yards? 100 yards?

Similar situation happened in a parking garage in downtown Lexington not too long ago, except the guy defending himself didn’t have a gun. He died.
The overwhelming majority of people in this country have no clue how to fight or defend themselves no matter how many times they watched Roadhouse growing up. When shite hits the fan in real life, pull the trigger and don’t take any chances.

The two had a history. This wasn't a sudden thing. The guy who got shot was waiting outside the other guy's house at 5:30 in the morning to assault him. It doesn't matter if he knew he had a knife or not. This situation just proved that it's best to assume the worst. If he had acquiesced and gotten into a fist fight, he likely would've been stabbed.
