When I asked him about it he said it didn’t matter because they are not “required” to have one. Is this true?
If it's a government plate then no, they aren't required. But it's still bullshite IMO. If you are going to put one on, then it needs to be current. Law enforcement relations are in the shitter right now and optics are everything.

One of my podnuhs is a state trooper and he caught hell from other troopers from giving a retired LSP captain a DUI and threw in a ticket for his inspection sticker as well. Apparently he was supposed to just follow the guy home because of the thin blue line thing

Is just more of our tax dollars being spent on our tax paid cop car.

Police cars are required to have a valid inspection sticker
Don't know about police vehicle but if they are under the same rules as Fire Dept then they do not need them.
Our Fire dept vehicles are exempt. Not sure why but they are. I've asked several people in the depts I am part of and they have all said and some shown me where emergency vehicles are not required to have inspection tags.

He should have wrote you up for his expired tag. It’s the taxpayers car right. You pay his salary. Actually I wish he would have planted some drugs and shot you in the arse.

They don't follow the same rules as we do. If you're speeding doing 75 in a 60 they have no qualms doing 90 to come get you.

Its Kind of like the Window Tint law. Its just a Money grab and an offense to initiate a stop. The most consistent BS reasoning and excuse behind tint laws are due to safety and viability while driving at night. I didnt know police has special, Lengthy, training to make them more able to not have this affect them like us normal folk. Again Its a money grab just like getting a ticket for 76 in a 75zone. Its bs but just call it that. Dont lecture us on how this or that but have the same on your end

Do as I say not as I do baw. Just like Jesus said. Just like Jesus was the shepherd of men, so are todays state troopers
Plus they work way harder and way longer hours than one of you civvies and don’t have time to get a sticker so why don’t you cut them some slack? And maybe back the badge for once in your life

I know y’all are ignorant but I’m Louisiana on a traffic stop if an officer orders you out the vehicle you have to get out. LSP orders everyone out the vehicle. This is a FACT

The window tint law pisses me off.
They can have Limo tint and windshield tint. Meanwhile I can't even get 20% on my car.

Kinda like how the cop that will turn on his lights to get through a red light and then turn them off immediately afterward or will go speeding by you on the roadway, but when he pulls you over for the same offenses he proceeds to lecture you on how reckless your behavior was and how it endangers lives. Hypocrites.
99/100 times they are going to a call and cops don’t go lights and sirens if they don’t have to. I know you are ignorant but just a little info

that does suck but as a former cop.... when you dont have tint... you feel way more vulnerable.

Do not engage them. Yes sir, no sir, thank you and have a great day is all you should say.

Yep. State troopers are the Americans. You’re the nazi because you’re working your car to death without knowing if it’s healthy by getting an inspection sticker

Report it to the state fleet manager. The trooper may not care, his boss may not care, but if whatever lowly fleet manager for that particular agency who is responsible for keeping up with that crap gets dinged, he'll whine to his boss.
Who will whine to theirs. Who will eventually complain to the wrong person.
The wrist slaps will get dolled out from top down.
If you people want to frick with a bureaucracy all you have to do is create a small issue, not a big one.
