Her instant reaction is almost always, ‘yes well what about when you…..’. Some advice from an old man who has been married for a long time. Just pick up the mop and give your wife a hug and a kiss and tell her you love her.

It’s not worth a back and forth or worse harsh words for something you can do yourself in under a minute.

I can accept and appreciate this kind of advice, thank you.

You need a hobby that gets you out of the house on the weekends. I bought my first bass boat about a year into our marriage. I am gone every saturday and sunday before daylight.

If you aren't around she can't argue with you.

Do their future husbands a favor. For the love of god please stop trying to raise princesses. They’re not princesses. They’re not royalty. They are human and yes they can be and do wrong at times.

I’m just about at my breaking point in my marriage (halfway joking, it ain’t that serious ), because my wife REFUSES to ever accept any responsibility for her actions. I’m only talking about minor household type shite. She’s a great mother, she is faithful and loyal to me, she’s a hard worker who never misses a day or work unless she’s sick or has something for the kids….

But for the love of god I cannot for the life of me ever get her to be like ‘hey you know what, I was wrong, I’m sorry’. Never. Not once. fricking drives me nuts

So dads…. Treat your daughters like a normal kid. They are still going to love you. Put them in team sports or something so they can learn how to share responsibilities and blame when shite hits the fans. Their future husbands will thank you for it

Morning dropoff at St. Joseph's Academy is a regular reminder of how spoiled some of these girls are. It's drizzling, but sure, make everyone else late because your hair is that important.

That old man had a wife who carried her own weight in the household. That advice only goes so far with modern women. I'm sure OP did that for a while before he got fed up with carrying his weight and hers.

Just my opinion, but I’m stronger than my lady and don’t mind carrying more weight if needed. You don’t see most men treating their ladies like in the past. So they get what they get.

I raised my daughter to be independent and tough. She did girly stuff but she also did everything I like to do. She hunts, fishes, can bait her own hook, cut grass, drive a tractor, run a chain saw. She can probably do more manly shite than most guys her age.

There should be a post like this to tell men to quit raising their sons to be pussies. Most young me today can't do any fricking thing. They have no problem solving skills. I'd be surprised if 1% of young men could change a tire or replace a battery in their vehicle. I have two college boys in my rental and they can't do a fricking thing. I had to show them how to cut grass.

This is called woman being women. It’s got nothing to do with their upbringing.

I wanna make it clear that I’m not some great father and I have many flaws. I have three little kids and at this point I’m very discouraged with what I see from other parents and how they’re raising their kids.

I’d say 90% of them don’t raise them at all. They just give them what they want, keep them plugged into an iPad, video games, and tv, and provide zero discipline or structure surrounding their kids behavior. It’s very upsetting to watch because it’s obvious to me that these kids don’t have a chance. And these are the kids of doctors, lawyers, real estate brokers etc. Just complete absentee parenting.

I firmly believe this is the way.

That’s impossible unless we somehow can change their DNA. I have four daughters and try as I might , I have come to the conclusion they are born that way lol.

The best advice I can give dads of daughters is to live the example of the type of man you want her to marry. Because odds are, that’s who she’s going to marry.
