If you had a job to go to, you wouldn't be so worried what's going on at the gym. Get a job.

Can't argue with that

My wife is 32, so I guess that is why I go below and above her age..

I just did standing overhead press in the squat rack. Didn't make the "you suck" list, guess I'm good.

I'll allow it. Legit use plus its easy to share a rack when someone is doing that

I do none of these, but how about you do your workout and let others do theirs. Everyone has to work around other people regardless, the equipment/space is occupied, move on.

I use the rack to do compounds and super sets with heavy things. The rack is perfect for having multiple stations ready to go.

Yet it is the only place to do squats.... So find somewhere else to do your heavy compunds. People need to squat.

Compounds include squats. Maybe you should go to a gym other than Planet Fitness where there are plenty of squat racks of varying descriptions.

If you bench in a power rack with safety bars because you are afraid to ask someone for a spot on a normal bench you suck.

Or you've had really bad experiences with asking people for a spot.

1) The guy that rips the bar off too soon.
2) The guy that lifts up on the bar with ever single rep.
3) The guy that then decides to work in with you and apparently do nothing but negative reps.
4) The guy with horrid BO.

5) the really loud yeller with 135 on the bar - lifter or spotter
6). The spitter or Snotter - no explanation necessary
7) The Strain so hard he farts bencher - again with 135 on the bar

Add to the list the ectomorphs who grab the 20s at the dumbbell rack and don't back up to do their set of brotato chip curls. If Mongo's re-racking the 90s underneath, you're getting the frick out of the way mid set.

that extra 2 ft the bar is lifted isn't important enough to take up a rack

The 5x5 I'm currently doing has me doing bent rows 3x's a week and deadlifts one to two times per week. Chances are, im already using the rack bc I generally do squats first, then deadlift/row/military press...so I might as well use it.

Lately my pet peeve are the powerlifters. Guy deadlifts 405+ but is beating the hell out of the bar...going to break it eventually.

I am squating in the squat rack and that is it. All other things can be done elsewhere without hogging up the SQUAT rack.

ETA I can almost understand overhead lifts in the squat rack.
