PSA for those traveling this weekend:MSY Parking Garages/Lots Already Full For the Weekend

We had to book a spot at "NOLA Airport Parking" 10 minutes away because the close off site parking spots are also full. Glad a new airport with adequate parking was built

You would think that someone would've looked at the expected volume of flights for the new airport and planned enough parking to go along with that.

Just park at esplanade and Uber over. Wont have to worry about damage on car because it will be gone

According to Bain & Co, they don't expect air traffic to be normal (post covid) until 2025. And somehow the airport doesn't have enough parking despite being in a valley.
Good thing the mayor that planned this idiotic airport is now the infrastructure czar.

The economy lot (at the old terminal) has tons of spaces available. Not claiming its convenient and I would add an hour of extra time for the shuttle ride, but parking is there.
Will also add across the country there are very few major airports with any parking available that you don't have to catch a bus or train to get to the terminal.

I have never had a problem with long term parking garage and to my knowledge it does not take reservations

I’d it’s going to take me an extra 40 minutes to shuttle or Uber in from a remote parking space, I’ll just fly out of LFT or BTR.

I flew 20 flights this month and every one of them was packed full.
Pilot shortage=full planes but airlines still have lots of airplanes in storage. If that place is full now, just wait until they get all those extra planes back in the air.
