This is exactly the type of thing I think about before telling myself "if that was a real risk you'd hear about it"

Glad you're ok. When you're well, tell us about stopping the bleed, tourniquet use, etc.

Glad you're ok, and they could fix you up.
That is a pretty significant injury to get tagged with away from facilities.

You don't have to be specific, we know you own your artery.

growing up, we had parquet floors in my second home. as a kid, i was messing with my knife and tossed it in the parquet floor and forgot about it. a while later, (barefoot), i forgot about the knife and got up to get something. I kicked that blade with my big toe and nearly cut it to the bone. I was in middle school at the time and it was the Fall and I had football practice nearly every day after school. that damn toe would heal during the day and split open during practice and i would bleed everywhere even with tape.

knife safety is sometimes something you have to learn the hard way.

I lopped my finger off in my car cutting a pesky zip tie

Took it to the Er and nurse looked at it and says:

“Bayyybe, you ain’t gone need dis”

Tosses end of finger in trash.

I cut the radial artery of my right index finger. Blood was squirting out of it as I made a fist. I bumped it on the edge of a mower blade that was in my vice. I had just sharpened the edge, turned away to get a rag, turned back and touched it ever so lightly. That was enough. 5 stitches. I am all eyes now with anything sharp.

The older I get the more I hate sharp shite. If I stop in the kitchen while my wife is chopping something I'm a ball of anxiety, I can't watch

Every time I pull out something sharp, I make myself have a moment of ok idiot, you have a sharp thing now, don't be an idiot. A healthy fear is warranted.

Now the circular saw, I do dumb shite with, it's going to get me one day.

That's on the pinkie side of the hand, now I'm very curious so to how it happened. I've accidentally cut the radial artery at the wrist, and somehow didn't die with no IFAK or torniquet.
