Jesus Christ. What is the big deal. I mean, from the woman's perspective I kind of get it. Personally, I wouldn't have wasted my time worrying about some bullshite that I know that the intentions wasn't meant to insult anyone, but I don't really disagree with the situation. The great divide isn't over the color of the ice cream, it's over the two flavors. The ironic part is...each of her kids will have one flavor they prefer over the other.

Idiots and lions have always been around. At this point the change is media outlets realizing that write stories about idiots doing idiot things, and then people like OP will repost them 800 times which (a) gives the outlet more pageviews and (b) creates the impression these people matter.
In other words the backlash to their plea is a bigger driver of why they get attention at this point than the group (if it even exists) that agrees with them.
