Pronouns in e-mail signature

Today I received an e-mail from someone I work with from time to time. She works for a large organization.
In her e-mail signature, behind her name and credentials, is (she/her/hers) just like that.
Is this something new? I have no doubt she is a woman (no pics).
I could understand if there was some "ambiguity" about someone's name or looks. But she is very obviously a woman with a very traditionally female name.
What a world we live in... where the normal straight people have to explain themselves.

I have started seeing this too.
It's dumb.
I refuse to acknowledge it and will never participate.
ETA: Now that I think about it, I have only seen it on men's signatures and they had masculine names. Even dumber.

My wife(no pics) graduated from Tulane, but is adjunct faculty at LSU. She was working home one day and responding to a faculty member at LSU that had their pronouns listed. I shook my head and thought what is happening to my Alma Mater.

I deal with a Housing Authority in Portland and everyone I email from there, use these pronouns. Very Strange.

I live and work in rural, redneck Louisiana. I’ve seen nothing of the sort.

I work in a pretty conservative profession, and most of my clients are pretty conservative, so this is first I have seen of it.
