I hope we go all electric. I have been buying utility stocks for last twenty years. I do not think the grid will support this. If the draw backs are fixed like going on a trip and having to wait a long time to charge is fixed I would buy one.

I think putting a diesel generator in an “electric car” would kind of defeat the purpose.
The train is an example of the amount of towing power that can be achieved with an electric motor

The oil and gas company talking points are hilarious and sad.
In this particular case, they are 100% factual.

Big O&G probably has as much to do with the green energy technological advancements the last decade as any other entities. Those deep pockets aren't stupid, so I'm not sure what you mean with the talking points stuff

When we get to roughly 500 miles on a charge, it's a no brainer for me. This, coming from someoneone who drivers an SUV getting a generous 19mpg on premium gas.

I think it's quite obvious that Americans don't consider their cars to be just about transportation. I see some person riding in a prius that person immediately becomes a moron to me. I drive a full size four wheel drive truck and I will never pull anything or use the 4WD. So who's the moron?

I don’t get some of the hate people with electric cars get.
That hate will begin to diminish as gassers get their doors blown off by electric cars. Speed kills and it will eventually change the minds of even the most hardcore V8 lovers. There's nothing like instant acceleration and instant torque at all four tires. The Tesla Roadster is projected to do 0-60 in 1.9 seconds. That's simply incredible. Rivian's truck (if ever built) is supposed to do 0-60 in 3 seconds. Once they perfect top end speeds and achieve longer mileage ranges, that's it for gas. It won't take them long either as there are just so many companies getting in the race now.

Has anyone considered the input of poor or middle-class drivers?

> 20, probably 15.
When seismic change happens it starts slowly, but accelerates quickly.
It is amazing how it is already affecting the ICE supplier base.

My tesla is awesome. Will never buy another gas vehicle again

Here's a great video of the Rivian vehicles. Whether you ever buy electric doesn't matter. The tech put into these is undeniably awesome.

Electric vehicles will be available for less than $25K in the near future. Someone will build for every market just as they do now. So, you'll get to own one, too.

Clever, but I don't think you get it.

Yeah...tell that to my wife the speedster who curses all the slow-arse Prius's in the left lane of the interstate.
If a Toyota Prius was the benchmark for electric capabilities I would agree with you. Luckily, it’s at the bottom of the list.
I mean, there’s a truck coming out shortly that does 0-60 in 3 seconds

and they don't look ridiculous
That's a big issue for me. I'm superficial about that shite, I like for it to look badass. Most of the cars look like they are trying to be futuristic.
..and It doesnt have the same magic as it did in the 1950s.

That’s magical thinking.

I'll need to buy a vehicle next year. I'm considering a hybrid now.
If batteries and range continue to prove, I think affordable, practical electric vehicles will definitely be a solid option by 2030.

If you start sentences like this then there’s a 100% chance you’re an insecure fig
Drives me nuts to see this sentence structure. So condescending.

I won’t mind having an electric car. They’re so fast.
