but trump, from very early (january) knew there was a virus in China and stopped travel there.

He knew in early January, but didn't restrict travel until Jan 31. It also wasn't a travel ban, only a restriction on travel for certain people, mostly Chinese nationalists. It also came after most commercial carriers had suspended flights.

So the lie is Trump calling it a ban when the more accurate term was restriction.

The flu kills about 0.1% of SYMPTOMATIC cases, while COVID kills about 0.7% of ALL cases (including asymptomatic). So compared to a lot of viruses it may not be deadly (Ebola, MERS) but compared to the seasonal flu it’s much deadlier.

we also have a vaccine for the flu, which is effective at stopping in half of people. and people that still get it have less severe cases if they had the shot

This right here is why we can’t have an honest conversation. The 0.1% for flu is based on an estimation of ALL cases. An estimation based on hospital loads and other pretty general information. When I did some research, I found that it was never meant to be a very scientific estimation. Most people didn’t care. The 0.7% for covid is a number from March. It’s much lower now. Closer to 0.2%.

I was about to ask where he pulled that .7% figure from.

To the absolute uproar of the left calling him crazy and xenophobic. And yet they claim they would have handled it better.

Why would I be happy about the president coming down with an illness one month before the election?

Are we sure that he is ill? I thought he just tested positive in one of his daily tests?

No he doesn’t.
Sure he does.

If he, a 70+ year old, comes out unscathed, with no apparent issues, he is allowed to up play that point.

That is a strong position for him, although completely anecdotal.

for those under the age of 70, it is either less than or equivocal to the flu.

It is the elderly who are at greatest risk.

Those under 20, it is about .003%, which is 1/3 of the flu.

I ask anyone who puts this spin on the situation. Let's stipulate these murky numbers. Why post them other than to justify shutting down the country? And leaping to the next question, why are you a piece of shite that justified ruining the economy of a country with an average age of 35 for this thing?

I don't think anyone has said he is ill. Here, media or otherwise.

The most disappointing thing of all of this is how few of you motherfrickers have the ability to interpret statistics.

The validity of data is the only thing that matters.

Data are god.

It's being reported that Hope Hicks showed symptoms first and was tested and confirmed to have contracted Covid. Which obviously meant that the President and first lady would be tested immediately after finding out about Hicks.

No, they were tested the day after. Trump's people knew about Hope but it isn't certain that Trump knew before he went to his golf club to raise funds.

Who are we defining as "the left" here? Sure, there were a lot of cries on social media over it, but none from elected Democrats. And please don't use the Tweet from Chuck Schumer. That was proven to be fake.

For who? His voter base that was voting for him regardless?

Swing voters aren’t gonna buy that shite. Dude said it was a democratic hoax a few months back.

People are even questioning whether he even actually has it.

Those numbers are very low. Surprised our President, FL and Hope Hicks all tested positive in the same 24 hr. window...

Can I cite Pelosi who is the highest ranking Democrat in the country? Will she work?

Trump's doctor told him to take vitamin D but he demanded vitamin R.
