All I want are socks, so I’m good there. I told my parents not to bother with the Turkey this year at Thanksgiving because we’re not the biggest fans of Turkey and do it more for tradition and some poorer families are fans of Turkey and actually want it.

Interesting, our warehouse is getting 4/5 truckloads of freight per day out of California ports as well as Houston.

I've worked for the judicial system and I've seen what truck drivers take home and I was shocked how poorly they are paid in many instances. COVID has showed how poorly paid folks who we as a country depend upon for necessities. The cashier at your local grocery; the guy at the fast food place, the waiter/waitress at your favorite restaurant, etc. These folks have been poorly paid forever, now that there is a shortage of workers, it's time to appreciate the work they do. Most big businesses have raised wages and some have started providing benefits. We're all going to pay more, but Americans will have more to contribute to our economy. This is a good thing for our country. Every full time worker should earn a livable wage. PERIOD.

This, folks, is why we are where we are.

Idiots that do not understand how any of this works, and their solution is more stupidity.

A friend of mine was doing that a few years ago, a couple weekends a month, until his wife started whoring around.

Yeah, it's been asked a few times in the thread, but nobody has posted a link to back this up yet.

I'm allowed to be off every other Friday or every Friday if I want with a flex schedule and still working from home. I make good money, but I'm damn sure thinking about getting some kind of weekend or evening part time job to cash in on some of this madness with the pay increases every where.

One of my prescriptions is several days past due. None of the local pharmacies have the shot in stock nor can they tell me when they will.

It used to be that these were either entry-level jobs, first jobs, or jobs used to bridge the gap between jobs. Now, for some reason, they are being treated as careers or longterm jobs. They shouldn't be.

Your math doesn't work out here, and I don't think you are seeing the snowball effect in the job market.

I don't understand. Supply chains are too complicated.
