It would remove some bacteria but most are just mild cleaning solutikns that loosen dried grease, dirt, and food particles.
It’s point wasn't sanitation but rather dining experience. Nobody likes putting their hands on a table and it sticking.

Yeah, but wouldnt make sense to actually really clean the table? While you're already wiping it down anyway, why not go ahead and use a disinfectant?
Do you want to use a plate that someone just wiped off with a towel?

Checked out in the self check out aisle. Picked up the scanner, that had been molested by every other patron, touched the key pad. Then sanitized my hands when the items were in my auto.
Then I realized the are idiots. They touch all of the scanners, screen, carts etc. then they get in their car and remove the mask with their dirty hands. Then they proceed to wipe their faces with their hands because the mask made them itchy or sweaty. They just wiped out one of the whole reasons for masking up in one fall swoop.
I like how you know you can clean your hands, but you just assume everyone wearing a mask doesn't do the same things you do
You might be a legit moron

You were the guy at the bar that was ok with the bartender placing a used glass in the “Magic”’solution bucket, then rinsing it out, and serving it to you?
Most people would just call this “washing the dishes.”
As far as rags go - typically tables are sprayed with a cleaning solution, or rags are soaked in a cleaning solution. You do know that they use rags to clean food prep areas too?
Restaurants don’t use chlorox wipes because they’re expensive and impractical.

I'm not arguing against it, but how long would this process take to be done correctly? I'm guessing cleaning each table correctly isn't the problem, but going to the back and changing rags after each table and whatever that all requires isn't quick.
I've read many bitchy people complain about how they hated it when people came to clean tables and sprayed stuff that smelled while they were eating nearby. And always people complaining about some places taking to long to clean tables.
We never had a concern about or saw negative effects that I'm aware of with what was happening pre-covid. Maybe just step up the wipe down a little better and do a sanitization after the restaurant closes might be the middle ground.

You eat off a plate, you don't eat off the table.

Disinfectants cost money. I know it’s not a lot but it will add up eventually.
Also, the disinfectant May damage the table. Who knows.

Yeah, I was and still am okay with that. Live your life in some sort of sterilized bubble if it makes you happy. Leave the rest of us alone.

You do realize that there is sanitizing chemicals being used with that rag?

What’s the point? All it’s doing is spreading bacteria and potentially other harmful items from table to table patron to patron. Prior to all this pandemic and rush to cleanliness, I’ve always had this question.
I feel better on what's on that rag vs. the filth you and yours nasty dickbeaters leave behind.

Hey my dick is clean. It’s been in quarantine ever since I had my kid

A red bucket is filled at the beginning of service with a quaternary sanitizer. A rag is placed in the bucket to soak up the sanitizer. A busser uses the sanitizer-soaked rag to spread the sanitizer across the table, killing bacteria and potentially other harmful items. At shift changover, the bucket and rag is replaced. Stop eating at shitholes that don't replace the rag regularly.
Clorox wipes are the disposable version of what restaurants have been doing for years.

At most places, you should probably be more concerned about what’s going on in the back of the house than the front of the house with health related concerns.

In the OP's case that is particularly true. They probably hate him and are putting pubes in his food anyway.

Should wipe down with approved sanitizer.

Should check every 2 hours with QT 44 strips.

So should table prep.
Nasty fricks taking a shite, not washing their hands, and then touching the condiments.
Wipe yours shite down.
Hope this new trend continues.
I assume you're using talk to text since typing is rather hard from inside your protective bubble.

Just keep a pack of your Clorox wipes in your purse for when you go out to eat. Then you can sterilize the table and condiments.

I recall when my wife worked as a restaurant manager back in college that they were not allowed (by the FDA or whatever) to openly use chemicals while patrons were eating. I assume that referred to spraying chemicals on the tables, but a rag was okay. Not sure exactly the requirement.
