The halfwit that installed mine used like tablespoons of cement at the base. It wobbled for a few months until I caught him in the hood and made him do it right.

I guess being 60 and installing mailboxes says it all.

This concept is foreign to me. My neighborhood's mailboxes are attached to the houses, forcing the postal carrier to walk her route and up some porch steps.

I looked into that.. They stopped doing that for mail routes that didn't have prior delivery on foot. Would have been great to have the carrier have to walk the entire neighborhood instead.

I hate the post office so much. Government leaches, the lot of them.

I have bitched about my mail lady for years, nothing ever changed. I thought of rigging it with a rubber band to slam it closed.

How many inches were they off?

If only by a few....just dig a few inches of ground out from under box and problem solved.

Get this. My parents live in a neighborhood that is 100+ years old (but not a designated historic district). The local postmaster, in an attempt to have people install mailboxes at the road requires a mailbox to be added to the road only if the home changes ownership.

Basically the homeowners have been grandfathered in...but what this means is that on their block of 5 houses they have to zig zag on foot from a house-mounted box to a road fronting box, and then back to a house mounted box.

Film the letter carriers every move. Report then incessantly. Make their life hell.

I figure the day will come soon when they require suburban hoods to have banks of mailboxes in central locations, like apartment complexes.

Will suck for old people and others who don't drive or get around well, but the streets will look cleaner without all those boxes on the curb.

My friend's 'hood in FL is like this. They're all individual homes.

Our mail carrier won't deliver to our house if there's a car parked on the street close enough so that she can't pull her jeep up right next to the mailbox.

fricking fat lazy whore.

The USPS is inhabited by morans who immediately infect their new recruits.

Dealing with them is like normal life in rural Arkansas.
