This what I take. One pill in the morning and I’m good all day.

Zantac was GOAT minus the cancer causing part. That was the best OTC in my opinion. I take Protonix twice daily (script required) and that is the best option.

I had already been jogging a mile or so each day even at 255 but was not losing any weight until I changed diet and in the past 5 months I have dropped from 255 to 190.
Yep, weight loss occurs at the dinner table. The human body is incredibly efficient, 30 minutes of cardio calorie burn is equivalent to a single cupcake.

Pantoprazole

I have two esophageal stricture likely caused by GERD and complicated by a hiatal hernia. I have an EGD with dilation every 3 months and will continue this for the rest of my life. The normal inside diameter of the esophagus is 20mm. I had problems swallowing for sometime and when I had my first EGD my esophagus was at the structures was the size of a straw (6-8mm). My Dr is able to get me to 16-18mm but after 3 months I am back to 12mm. When they stretch it tears the esophagus and it scars back...over and over again. My advice, never ignore swallowing broblems.

Nexium every day of every year

This, was on Protonix but my Gastro Dr told me to get on OTC Nexium. I have been dealing with reflux for years. Typically do an Upper GI every 2 years since I have a small case of Barrett's.

Used to take nexium or Zantac all the time. I started to drink less during a meal and not doing opposite temperature of food (ex. Cold water with hot food) and it has helped a ton.

I have terrible heartburn from bad genetics (it runs in the family) I use the Sam's club off-brand Prilosec and it works great.

Word to the wise - chewable antacids can make things worse because they only work in the acid in your stomach not on the production of acid.

I used to take a Prilosec every single day for probably a decade. Finally lost some weight and eliminated some things from my diet that were apparently causing it. Dairy was the culprit for me. I didn’t totally eliminate it, but probably dialed it back to about 20% of what I used to consume. Haven’t had reflux or heartburn in two years.

You may not believe this but the best AND quickest (instant) remedy is baking soda and water.

Grew up using it. Mom always said it will either make you burp or throw up but either way you'll feel better. Have never seen anyone throw up.

I started using Pepsid when I traveled a lot and had forgotten about the baking soda for a while. I was eating 2 pepsids per night most times. Now I have Arm & Hammer boxes in ziploc bags for home and travel. Don't plan to ever buy pepsid again.

Just add 2 to 3 tablespoons to a cool glass of water and burp away - usually starting with the first sip.

protonix generic, cost me 6.00 for 90days. not the best, but taking everyday keeps the major issues from arrising.

daughter takes dexilant, some insurances dont cover or will give you trouble, probably best out there.

This but as needed. I may go a couple weeks with no noticable problems but then need to take it every day for a bit.

Omeprazole, mentioned by many, is generic Prilosec. Get a Rx and, if you have good insurance, it should be cheap. I get a 90 day supply for about $3, which is hella cheaper than buying Prilosec OTC.

Little purple pill and cut out sugar. I thought it was greasy fatty foods, but when I went to NSNG diet, I don't have heartburn any more
