Post your top stories of ill behaving youth sports parents

I have been in denial that bad behavior by the parent or grandparent was as widespread as people were reporting. As my boys are getting older I am spending more and more time at ball parks. Holy shite! I am seeing and hearing things that are just crazy.
Just this weekend I witnessed a man who was at least 350 pounds and no more than 5 foot 6 get permanently banned from the park for skull cussing an umpire because he thought time had expired and his TBALL team could stay ahead. He included the f bomb, threats, and fence shaking. Oh, and similar to almost 100% of what I am seeing, he was wrong on the rule. These parents are ignorant to the rules.
More disturbing though was a grand father down in Lafayette that got upset after his grandson got called out on strikes. Not the fact that he was called out. But HOW he was called out. The ump gave a little fist pump can jab. The grandfather got all kinds of upset. What kind of flowers are we raising.
Dont want to be punched out, dont strike out.
There are more and more now that I am opening my eyes. Anyone got any stories?
I saw one at the soccer fields too, so I dont think baseball has a monopoly on any type of bad behavior.

I once had a freak injury on the baseball diamond and when my arm healed I had a fricking cannon. I ended up pitching for the Cubs at the ripe age of 12, and then my mom started banging the ol' veteran on the team.

When I was in high school, I was a youth soccer ref (I mean, for like 5 year olds).
I did this one game where the "coach" wouldn't stop cursing at his own son, who was supposed to play goalie but really just wanted to chase the ball like all the other kids (hard to get them to stay in position at age 5).
After I warned him multiple times, he started cursing at me (I was 17 at the time). I gave the guy a red card, and he pulled his team off the field. They forfeited the game, and he was never allowed to coach in that league again.
Talk about misplaced priorities.

I can't remember any specific but you will need to have a life shield if you wanna ump at a little league baseball/tball game. I did love making the outs extra special by doing a karate move call with extra oomph.

9 y/o soccer. After the goalie covered up the ball there was an unintentional contact after. Goalie was ok but he left the field for a bit. Mom of new goalie marches down and tells her son that 'if that's the way they play then you take out one of their team too'. I asked her if I heard her right and she responded "Yup".
I pretty loudly let everyone in the area know what she said. Mom of old goalie and another parent came down to apologize for her behavior.
I was pretty shocked she was trying to instigate a fight amongst a bunch of 9 y/o.

My first year of coaching little league we won the league so I was coaching All-Stars. The first game, I was really nervous. Had just taken a mis-thrown ball upside the back of the head. As the stars cleared I had this rather attractive, well off, mother in my face. I knew her because she was from my original team. She and her husband were by far the most well off (financially) of all my players. She started hollering at me because I didn't "warn" them it costs 2 dollars to get into the all-star game. I was bewildered. Thinking she just was embarrassed not having cash on hand, I reach for by back pocket to get my wallet. She got madder, and madder. My league's administration had to drag her off the field. She then stood outside the middle field fence hollering at her son to quit and come on home with her. The father was there shaking his head. The police had to carry her off. I was bewildered, dumbfounded, and naive. Never did understand it, before that she was a perfect players mom.

quote:, my son is a catcher and is not too worried about getting hit on plays at the plate. He has gotten where he just stands in the base path. I have been a little surprised at the number of opposing fans that scream to 'take him out next time' after he tags them out. Rules now state that the runner must avoid contact, so he just continues to park his little arse there.

My son's last three coaches apparently chose kids at tryouts based on parents and not on the kids. We have had wonderful parents, but terrible teams
Oh, and last night this happened. The 6:00 game was a tie at the end of the time limit. We stand there watching the game go on tied until 8:50 when someone finally decided to cancel our 7:30 game. Some of the families have younger ones there than the 9/10s playing. The other coach went off on the admin for calling our game. Unbelievable.

Playing in a local coaches pitch tournament when I was about 8 years old. Some of the parents didn't like the calls from the ump throughout the game so they start throwing f-bombs and profanities towards the ump. Ump doesn't like it obviously and eventually he had enough of it and called "ballgame". Thier coaching staff then proceeded to storm out of the dugout and charge at the ump. It was pure chaos and resulted in the cops showing up and arresting a few of them. My 8 year old self was in awe at the fact that this was all over a fricking coaches pitch game. It was truly a sight to behold.

Had the last couple innings of an 8th grade baseball game canceled once because the other teams parents were so bad

First time coaching was 12-13 yr old league. The father of essentially my best player was jawing back and forth with his kid while the kid was trying to catch. Long story short, the Dumbass father after the inning was over decided a physical altercation with the kid in my dugout was a good idea.. Had to have him removed and threaten the rest of the parents(not that i was really worried about any of them) really left a sour taste for coaching after that.

I grew up with a guy who's dad used to get kicked out of our 3rd and 4th grade basketball games for dog cussin' the reff. My friend would leave the games crying with embarrassment.
In high school, I remember hearing him cursing out the reffs while we were in the huddle on the field. This happened a few times.
A few years later, I was watching him play college football and I witnessed his dad getting thrown out of the stadium for running down to the sideline seats to chew arse on the officials.
Some people just have a problem.
