There were no good sitcoms from the 1960s.

I don't care for boiled crawfish. I don't watch the LSU games against small schools like Grambling.

1995 Nebraska's overrated and had an easier road to the national title than perhaps all of Osborne's teams.
1. Didn't have to contend with Barry Switzer anymore, or even Bill McCartney.
2. Didn't play a nonconference game against an opponent with more than six wins.
3. Beat the same Big 8 opponents that they beat 50-0 every year for decades.
4. 11 game schedule with no conference championship or playoff semifinal.
5. Played a soft, pass happy bowl opponent not nearly as formidable in the defensive front as the Miami and FSU teams that gave them a 7 game (nearly 8 game) bowl losing streak from 1987-1993.

The best college football teams would have no problem defeating the teams at the bottom of the NFL standings, assuming NCAA rules.
This is laughably wrong. The worst NFL team is filled with backup players that were stars in college. It's in another stratosphere.
That being said, I much prefer the college game (or at least the pre-NIL and portal college game).

Redundancy is overrated in engineering. It's a crutch used by the simple-minded.
I think it's admittedly a crutch put in place to protect from human error. Not sure how that can be overrated, as human error is never going to be completely prevented in all cases.

Yeah, but they're fat, old, lazy, and accustomed to a diluted set of rules. There are also only 53 of them per team, I believe.

My thought was that redundancy is lazy thinking because it's obvious how to do it. In a nuclear power plant, for example, it's straightforward enough to provide multiple cooling systems. Later designs seem to me to rely on more inherent, physical aspects of the reactor to safeguard it.
The DC-10 crash in Sioux City really shaped my views on the topic. That plane had triple-redundant hydraulic lines but they all occupied the same basic space. That's profoundly ineffective when it comes to physical damage. The same explosively detached turbine blade will just sever all three lines at once. And I'm sure a bunch of eggheads sat around during design and added hydraulic lines until their formulas told them the chance of a full hydraulic failure was minimal.

FEMA should be eliminated. I live in South Florida. I fully realize that my home may be destroyed by a hurricane. It's my choice to live there. Why should a taxpayer in Topeka, KS or Poughkeepsie, NY have to pay to rebuild my house in the same hurricane-endangered location? Get rid of it.

I don't think it should be eliminated. But a radical restructuring and a new redefined mission goal for sure.

That opinion is only unpopular because it is 100% wrong.
