It’s a terrible disease and extremely tough on the family. Hopefully one day there will be a cure.

So hemp gummies should be legal, as opposed to marijuana which requires a medical prescription. Will hemp gummies work as well or does it have to have the THC in it?

That is amazing and I am so happy for you and your mom! Something like this can make a wretched situation just a bit more tolerable. My mom considered getting medical marijuana for my dad, but it was a while back and the hoops to jump through were ridiculous. And his neuro was not supportive. Wonderful story.

Great to hear. My dad passed away in February after a battle with Alzheimer’s and dementia
I’m really sorry for your loss, man

Wish I had suggested that. She would have tried anything near the end
This is actually why I made this post. We never thought it was an option. The only reason my mom knew about it was from the nurse. She’d been reading stories from memory care nurses in California, saying how much it helped their patients. They are begging family members to get their loved ones a prescription. Apparently it makes them so much easier to care for.

I suggested edibles to my siblings once for my mom and they were against it (partly because they knew she'd be.) I still sometimes thought about giving her something. She progressed too fast for me to solve that ethical dilemma. Awesome to hear it has brought your mom and dad some peace.

That’s a great story, OP. Alzheimer’s is a cruel, vicious bitch.

Wonderful news! My grandfather died of this terrible disease. He was still physically strong, but his mind was gone for eight years at least (grandmother was covering for him) before he went. Wish we’d known then what we know now.

What was the dosing like? Was it the Delta 8 stuff? My mom has dementia/Alzheimer’s and has been taking Ativan.

My dad was diagnosed with Alzheimer's at 53 . Never was violent , just said bizarre things . He was bedridden for 5 years . A very proudful ex tiger . It crushed me every time I visited him , but I kept going back . He passed at 63 and it was a blessing . Great man and father .

Man if you find anything that works to ease the pain of Alzheimer's, I say more power to ya.

I hate to be that guy since I started a thread about this. If you can find access to psilocybe mushrooms try and get some. Go to thread I started if you don't and some folks posted links to get some for a microdose. They are starting studies now with possibilities it can help with dementia and Alzheimer's. They've learned it grows dendrites and activates neurons in the brain.

My grandmothers sister had Alzheimer’s and some of the stories I heard were insane. I hope I never have to deal with that in any way.
Last time I saw her, my mom asked her if she recognized me. She stared me up and down and said, I’d remember that son of a bitch any day.

I’m so happy to hear Marijuana is working wonders in helping. But please please, do not use any of the gummies able to be bought at a gas station. The industry is unregulated and 9 times out of 10 the brands found in gas stations don’t properly test their product for safety whether it be heavy metals, mycotoxins, solvents etc. Here is a short list of quality brands I’d recommend that I carry in my store that can be purchased online. Hometown Hero, MellowFellow, Urb, CannaRiver.

I think she said 2.5-5 mg a day of the medical stuff. Before that it was whatever they are selling in the vape shops.
