Yeah, unfortunately.. I have a cousin who does a lot of installations in the city, works some with the fire dept.. he says all the restaurants in the Quarters , even the famous “institutions”- are infested with rats and other unappetizing things.. he wont eat in the City.. im not sure about outside of the French Quarter though

You do realize it's a port city and the French Quarter is adjacent to the river right?

Show me a port city that doesn't have rats and I'll show you a crack head without an STD....

I love how single moms wear their bad decision like armor that should save them from any criticism and make them the victim in any situation.

Though this has nothing to do with port of call.

Although I find it telling that she was absolutely fine with the conditions as long as it was making her money but now decided to be petty.

I know someone who installs and works on commercial kitchens. He said once he was working at one of the famous restaurants and a guy was up on the 2nd floor shooting rats with a .22.

Stopped going to Port of Call years after after German roaches took a stroll on the wall and table. Twice.

My wife’s worked at one of the “famous” restaurants, and she says that they have to do thorough cleanings twice a day because of the various critters. Being that close to the river, it’s impossible to avoid.

It's effective but you have to think about the ramifications of future employment with other companies.

Anyone working at a place like Port of Call for 12 years isn't thinking about the future.

And if they kept the guy in the kitchen and fired the bartender, it probably means he was far more valuable and her story is leaving information out that makes it clear why they fired her and not him

Don't care those hamburgers are good.

Why won’t they melt the cheese though? The mound of cold unmelted cheese on top is so arse and I thought they were messing with me the first few times it came that way

Lifelong friend has been in the pest control business for decades specializing in rodent control on the commercial side and he refuses to eat in pretty much ANY restaraunt (especially uptown and in the FQ).

Most, if not all, restaurants have at least mice

It is a massive undertaking to get them out of your FQ restaurant but we were able to get it done when we still had a location there. The only thing you can do is create a barrier as the population is too massive and spread out. I'd like know how much steel wool we used in that place

I don't think she protested her firing; only that the cook wasn't fired as well. She owned up to the fight and said both parties were wrong.

Oh look another single mom who thinks everything is sexist and cant take responsibility or accountability for her own actions. Wonder how she became a single mom?

One of my high school jobs was working at a grocery store. Every so often the manager would battle the rats with a .22 pistol, sometimes with a .410 shotgun — only at night when the store was closed. This was in the ‘70s.

It also has a lot to do with the age of the structures, plumbing, ventilation and sewer and drain lines create way more issues than being near the river.
