My biggest complaint of Porsche is they KNOWINGLY build an inferior car in the 911. What they have managed to do w/ a rear engine chassis is phenomenal, but the mid engine setup in the Cayman and GT is the best setup. Say as you wish w/ GM and Corvette, but they are trying to build the best car, and said to hell with tradition and did it.

the GT4 RS is going to be amazing. I think they will extremely limit production as not to step on the 911s heels. I say this as a GT3 owner.

Agree, and that's my point.

If they would take the handcuffs off the Cayman, look out. But they won't in fear of showing up big brother.

A lot of it probably has to do with price, Macan is porsche's cheapest vehicle. The vehicle you get so you can just say you have a porsche

If you want a porsche and you want 4 doors. You can either get the macan or cayenne or shell out $20,000-$35,000 more of a panamera

My clubs fit in the front seat. Too lazy to move the seat to stuff them in the back

Nobody except arguably the hypercar manufacturers (of which Porsche is on and off one) builds their best car. They build a car to a price point that their customers will buy. They are also one if not the most successfully campaigned race cars of all time.

If anyone needs more capability than a GT2 RS they should or are driving sports cars for a living.

The core 911 owners are a pretty tradition-oriented bunch.

This has been the case for Porsche for a long time. The 1986-89 4 cylinder 951 was a far more capable car than the 911. It was cheaper and Porsche would not let it surpass the 911 N/A performance.

why do americans hate sedans and coupes so much lately?

The people actually buying them are old and fat. The median age of a new car buyer in the US is something like 52 years old.

My wife wants something bigger than a car. She looked at Cayennes for awhile, and now she wants a Land Rover Discovery. I'd rather the Porsche.

Still can't do it... Sure it's fast, but it's still a station wagon at the end of the day.

It's like bragging you hooked up with "small" chick at a Pig Party.

I can't....

That Cadillac and Mercedes station wagons look like hearses.

I get it, I have always loved the idea of a super sleeper but wouldn't want one as a daily unless I had a couple of rugrats that required it. If I did that P-car would be my choice or if I needed a little more cargo space a Cayenne Turbo S or an X5M.

I'd love to see a chart breaking down the SUV drivers.

My non-scientific observation says it's blonde white women

I'm a 30-something guy and currently have a Macan GTS. Lease is up soon and I have a 911 in production, so I guess that'll be one less guy driving a Porsche SUV.

But the SUV made sense for me as I live in an area where it snows semi-frequently in the winter. Having a 911 as my only car should be interesting. I've heard the all-wheel drive model isn't too bad in the snow with Winter tires, so I guess I'll find out!

I really like the Cayenne Coupe. I'd be curious to know whether it sells better than the regular Cayenne.

Wait until there is a nice dry evening snow that drops 3-4" and drive to a large parking lot where it has large virgin areas and go wild. It is the most fun my wife and I have ever had in a car, we used to do it when we lived in VA but I never take summer tires off now in SC. Even SUVs can be a blast.
