So, like all the Popes that rallied Crusades?
How about the ones that waged wars against protestants?

Through technology, this is now the entire world.
Exactly…if God wanted unity across the world, it seems John 3:16 would have been timed congruently with technology capability to efficiently spread His word. Or perhaps He would have taken multi-pronged approach (eg, multiple sons) or host of alternative routes to mitigate the obstacles to this end.
Yet, He did what He did when and where He did it.
A 2000 year gap in tech capability and capacity suggests to me that full unity was never His plan.

Instead of condemning all war, he should provide his reasoning for why the war is unjust.
I agree that “it” is unjust wars. I also agree, and stated earlier in this thread, that the passage from Isaiah isn’t a condemnation of war, but of hypocrisy. Yes, poorly chosen by someone who is supposed to be Christ’s representative here on earth.
Again, I think Passover was a perfect opportunity for him to make a political statement such as this. My opinion is that it makes him look pretty silly with all of the obvious Biblical contradictions that exist.

God also rejects prayers of leaders of the church who let abuse hapen within there walls for decades! Hey mr pope! How about you get your own institution in order before teling our president how to run the country! Im sure there is lots you need to pray for within your own leaders!

Yeah so that’s like… one man’s opinion, man.

pretty sure that was a shot over the bow aimed in the direction of Trump, which is more political/personal than biblical, highly doubt he’d have made that statement if Biden or Harris were in the White House

You might want to actually look up Pope Leo. He directly has gone against liberal politicians for pushing the homosexual and trans agenda
quote:
Pope Leo has explicitly stated that Catholic doctrine regarding marriage as a union between a man and woman will not change, and he has spoken against "gender ideology," citing it as harmful
Damn he is so meany pants against Lord Orange!!!!

Respect for the office doesn't mean disengaging our own reasoning -- it should probably mean the opposite. In his position, he should know that his words will be scrutinized and that students of the bible will question when the Word is misapplied.
Leave it to TD to tell the Pope how to do his job.
In short, step up your game, Leo.

No T in these Popes?
Pope Pius IX - US Civil War
Pope Benedict XV - Armenian Genocide
…were they tooting the Pope horn re “God rejects prayers of leaders who wage wars”?

Well, the pope is not God nor does he know what exactly what God accepts or rejects
Posted on 3/30/26 at 2:15 pm to BowDownToLSU
Maybe he should stick to "poping" and let our military handle the bad guys. In this case we should just kill 'em all and let God sort 'em out!
