Pretty interesting video on the Delta. Reminds me of a lot of Louisiana as well.
When I used to hunt in the Delta I remember all the buildings in town looking like they were being allowed to fall apart.

There just doesn't seem to be any actual industry outside of farming. Some of the towns you wonder how anyone has a job, like yes someone has to work at the grocery stores and so forth but there is no actual like companies or industry.

I had to drive to Ita Bina (or however it’s spelled) one day years ago for work. It felt like I drove 50 years into the past and I couldn’t believe how poor and rundown that entire region is.

Issaquena county is the poorest county east of the mississippi river yet people will pay thousands and sometimes millions of dollars to buy property there or join a hunting club

I work all through the delta and let me tell you, most people that live there have no intention of bettering themselves or their family. They just want to collect welfare and have more kids to collect more welfare. Yet these people complain about having no healthcare or better hospitals. Their vote also counts the same as me or you which is depressing to think about
