Maybe some are waiting for traditional vaccine to be released like the one from Novavax

Why not do that without being vaccinated?

I'll bet you're a Biden voter.

How about...my body, my choice? Ever hear that one? I'll bet you agree with it when it's your side screaming it.

I felt comfortable enough with the anecdotal evidence in front of me. I don’t begrudge your decision to wait, you shouldn’t be judgemental about my decision to get the vaccine.
Reasonable position to have.

I think that now the vax is available, open it all up.

If people refuse and get sick, that was their choice. If the vaccine causes ebola-aids, it is their choice. Government should not be in the business of saving people from their own choices.

We need to lift all restrictions and end all subsidization of COVID treatment. If you want the shots, there’s been time to get it. If you don’t that’s your choice.

I'm 67 years old, no chronic health problems, no comorbidities - good aerobic and anaerobic exercise regimen. Rarely go to the doctor other than annual physical. I usually get the annual flu vaccine (still caught the flu a couple times - ugh) so I'm not anti-vax.

Other than being 67 years old, what is the case for getting the vaccine (BTW - J&J would be the one I would choose.)

There is so much basic misunderstanding of the vaccines it hurts my head.

The Novavax vaccine is a protein subunit vaccine which is not a "traditional" vaccine, though before anyone gets confused it is a vaccine just like Moderna, Phizer and J&J are.

There is already a "traditional" viral vector vaccine available the J&J vaccine.

I'm still surprised how serious some people are about vaccines and masks. People freak out over this shite.

On the way home from Houston, and I have to say I was shocked at how strict they still are. Their mask mandate has been lifted for two months, and we had to wear one at every single business we visited the entire weekend.

I was surprised because they didn’t care at all in Fredericksburg a couple weeks ago, and lots of places in Austin didn’t care either. In Houston yesterday, we were at an outdoor/open air bar and the bartender (behind plexiglass) jumped back a couple feet and pointed to his mask for us to put ours on before serving us.

New fun little stat I found from Bari Weiss; chances of being hospitalized from Covid two weeks out from being vaccinated: .00047%. That’s 1 in 213,000. You’re literally more likely to be struck by lightning than be hospitalized from Covid at this point. How aren’t we completely done with this bullshite yet?

Yep, if you’re worried about mRNA but want to be vaccinated for peace of mind, this is the one you want. It’s technology that has been used before plus the perk of only one shot.

I’m not an “anti-vaxer”, but I’m also not wanting to waste my time jumping through a bunch of hoops or waiting in hour long drive through lines to get the shot right now.

When I can just drive up to Walgreens by my house without an appointment and get it, I probably will.

Here in Austin I have coworkers waking up at 5am and refereshing a website for 30 minutes just to register and drive an hour to Circuit of the Americans or to some small town just to get it. I’ve got too many other things to do with my time

It's preventive, not a cure.

Which is essentially always the preferred approach in medicine. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Ben Frankin was a wise man.

That sucks.

I'm in a small Alabama town and made two appointments with a local pharmacy for the Moderna vaccine. Both were group appointments of about 5-6 people at a time. Both appointments started on time and I was out within minutes.

Couldn't have been much easier.
