The poll found that among Democratic respondents, only 3 percent voiced support for banning gas-powered cars.
So much like Twitter (or any social media really), it's a very loud and obnoxious few that control the narratives with the amount (and loudness) of bitching they do. Got it.

I don't give a frick you whiny frick. Gas powered vehicles are important to the most basic functions of our society and the government unilaterally pushing us off has far more consequences than marijuana laws.

There is no way this will come to pass.
The enormity of the change that this would require is lost to all the greenies that want to eliminate fossil fuels.

Yeah but I do it anyway.

Again, that has absolutely NOTHING to do with what he was saying, but carry on arguing about something nobody was talking about

If EVs really are the future, the GM CEO should be fired. They spent $24 billion on this tech and it’s still not baked yet. If EV’s aren’t the future, GM’s CEO should be fired for spending $24 billion for something the market isn’t asking for.
And Ford’s CEO should be fired just for wrecking the company’s procurement and supply chain in a panic after Covid. Their performance is horrible.
Both need to forget ESG and build what people want.

Most Voters Oppose Efforts to Ban Gas-Powered Vehicles
Yet they keep voting for the very people that want to push this on them...
I used to believe that there's no way the majority of Americans could really be as dumb to vote for things that actively hurt them. But I've revised those beliefs over the past 10-15 years. It's mind blowing.

Wait, you mean to tell me the majority of Americans don’t want a vehicle that has a battery that has to be changed out that’s as expensive as the vehicle itself? They don’t want a vehicle that completely impractical for traveling? They don’t want a vehicle that runs on electricity which is acquired by burning fossil fuels to attain it, and takes forever to recharge, having to wait in long lines to charge up, and are hard to find, especially if you’re out in the country?
Hard to imagine not wanting to invest in an expensive and unreliable vehicle huh? I can’t imagine why that isn’t taking off.

Ok, so this "ban" of gas powered cars.
Is it a ban of the sale of new cars, like in Cali, at some point in the future?
or
Is it a ban of gas powered cars full stop?
Cuz while I have doubts California will actually meet that goal, the latter is crazy and would hope any respondent would say "no" to that.

Bruh, its all about what people are invested in. There are a lot of people who have a lot of money invested in EV and EV related stocks.
The biggest manipulator of stocks is congress.

No shite. The majority of Americans don't agree with most of what is happening in this country, but the Media is actively working against us.

Only an idiot would want the government to ban gasoline. It is still by far the most efficient and effective way for transport and travel. That may change in the future, but we are talking 40 to 50+ years from now. The ICE will probably be around until at least the end of my life. At this point in time if you live in a city and do not travel or haul heavy loads than an EV would work okay for you. Hauling Cargo nope ,and long distance you will get there eventually.

Oh is this how things are supposed to work? Because most Americans also:
want legal access to abortion
want legal marijuana
did not want GW Bush for President
did not want Trump as President (twice)
agree the 2020 election was fair and legitimate
approve of expanding legal immigration
disapprove of building a wall on the southern border
agree racism against POC is widespread and extreme
and in direct response to the OP...
agree climate change is a serious issue and the government should do more
and lastly...
that the vast majority of people on the OT are idiots, but still less so than the PT.
'Merica...frick yeah!

Of course not, you rarely even find a Dim that supports their own party's actions, the majority of it is OMB and we must vote for a potato at all costs because we are brainwashed

I am a liberal by this board's standards and i think banning ICE cars is insane. Obvious reasons for not banning them are what just happened in Florida. After Ida was everyone i SELA just supposed to hang tight at their homes since the power grid was down?
I would be on board with making all vehicles achieve X amount of MPG, but that is too reasonable.

Then how can you continue to support a Political Party (Democrats) who are clearly insane?

being liberal by this board's standards does not mean I support the democratic party. It does mean I possess a reading comprehension past the 5th-grade level, unlike you.

Most people are gullible and don’t take time to think about issues past the emotional phase. They operate with very low information.
The left always comes up with “bold” ideas, but they’re never held to account when those ideas ultimately fail. Most Americans wanted to defund the police, now they don’t.
There is literally no reason to think POC face extreme racism and discrimination. What even constitutes extreme racism and discrimination, and where is your hard evidence for it?
I don’t think most people even understand what climate change is or is supposed to do because nobody ever articulates what it actually means or how much of an impact it will have. The IPCC even says it doesn’t recommend fundamentally changing the world economy because countering the effects would not be worth the chaos. But that’s not what the American government tells us. They say we have to give them all our money so they can combat climate change, but they never say how nor how much of an effect it will have. Not to mention that the climate bill doesn’t even address the climate.
If you choose to obey a bunch of jet setting hypocrites in private jets who spew more co2 in an avg week than the avg American in 10 years, then you are a fool. Personally, I understand they’re all full of shite.
The left always says things, but never backs it up nor receives pushback from the media.
We have a fundamental lack of wisdom and curiosity in this country and an unhealthy trust in government officials.
