lol, management? The same people who hire those lackluster shitheads in the first place? I'm sure they get 50 complaints a day, a place like that thrives on location alone.

Mgmt doesn't give a shite. They are the ones who refused to rat out the employee...which was smart on their part. Owner of the establishment should be made aware and have the culprit own up to it and fire the manager if he didn't report the incident to the owner by now.

I am this way since I moved back to Atlanta. The scary thing is that my black friends are the same way too!

Bet these scumbags feel like shite now. I can't find their Yelp page but can't wait to give them a 1 * review.

Police confirmed this as being true:

FYI, here was Las Palmas' reply to my email:

quote:

Hello sev , Thank you for your concern we really do appreciate you! But we do post at our official page about this concern at our official page which is las palmas Baton Rouge. And here our post please : To whom it may concern: Today we had an unfortunate incident where several deputies came to dine for lunch at Las Palmas on Oneal lane. One of their iced teas didn't have the sugar properly stirred and diluted in their cup. The deputy that had this particular iced tea thought that someone intentionally tried to harm him by saying that there was mucus in his drink. The manager tried to explain what exactly happened and apologized and offered a fresh pot of brewed tea. Unfortunately we didn't get a second chance to correct the mistake. We have been in business for a long time and we take it very seriously. Customer service has always been our number one priority. We also value those in uniform who protect us and appreciate their business. We strive to keep our commitment to provide good quality food and excellent customer service and appreciate their business on a daily basis. Once again we apologize for this unfortunate incident and look forward to serving you in the future.

So I'll ask a dumb question, why didn't the cop bring said luggy to crime lab to determine if it was unstirred Splenda or snot?

FWIW, I happened to speak to the Deputies involved in this incident yesterday at my business.

The story came out when we were discussing something else and wasn't advertised by them. In fact, he responded that he didn't expect the story to go viral the way it did and that he had only reported it to his Supervisor and no one else. He didn't put it on social media.

He was very clear that there was zero question as to the fact that it was spit. The unstirred sugar story is total BS. They didn't "collect the evidence" or have it analyzed because there was no desire to have it prosecuted. They left the business once the Manager made it clear he wasn't going to identify the person responsible. There was no story about unstirred sugar or anything else at the time of the incident as stated in that post.

I guess they add the sugar individually to each cup based on the customers needs. That's first class service. Every other place just mixes it all up in a big container.

Have only been to that generic joint once many moons ago with friends. Never to another location.

Even in BR's pitiful Mexican scene there are many better options.

Their stance to shield the guilty worker's actions guarantees they'll never see a dime from me again.

And I need to do some homework to see who the owners are and if they own any other BR eateries.

Unacceptable!

Frick overrated arse las palmas anyway. Plenty other better Mexican restaurants to visit who don't condone that.

And if it was just unstirred sugar why wouldn't they identify the "unstirrer"??? AND I've never eaten there BUT when you get sweet tea somewhere, the sugar is already in it isn't it??? (IDK .. I get bottled water)

Also, the tea is sweetened while hot, or with a simple syrup if cold.
