The reason is he wasn’t allowed to have his lawyer with him during his polygraph test.

Why do people still think those things have any relevance?

That cop is a scumbag.

I'm usually pro-police, but I called this the night it happened and was banned for like 9 months in response to the board's "back the blue no matter what" mob outrage.

In fact, I wasn't unbanned until the news came out about the cop being officially a shitbird a few months back; I emailed for reinstatement with a link to the story and was reinstated immediately.

I agree, it’s a bad look. I haven’t heard much from Gary over the last year or so, with exception of him maybe running for State Senate. Seems like he has fallen quite a bit from his Alton days and when he had that crappy radio show.

I doubt he runs for State Senate probably just trying to stay relevant and shake a few folks down for some money.

Yes gravy, we should disband all unions, including the police union, for participating in this travesty of justice. Let’s ride

They didnt allow him to have his lawyer present while giving him the polygraph. Violated his rights, so the case is tossed.

Ironically, these civil-service appeals and union-backed processes were created by individuals like Mr. Chambers.

The police department or state police messed this up, and he’s getting his job back. This killer needs to be removed from the department, not assigned to desk duty.

Ummmmm, why can't we just treat these thug cops as regular thugs? Why do we have to give this thug cop another pass by just firing him? Why not arrest his arse like the other thugs that murder people. If you are that much of a pussy to where you are so scared for your life (their legal defense for murder) when a guy is running away from you, then you don't need to be a cop. Maybe you should work at a cat shelter so you can be with all the other pussies.

Why is it always about race with you people. Yeah, I said 'you people'. This has nothing to do with race but everything to do with a group hired to protect and serve the citizens, yet they are the ones abusing their power at the expense of the ones they are sworn to protect. Race ain't got shite to do with it.

You are right; race has absolutely nothing to do with it. Not one person has posted in support of this officer either.

frick it. I’ll jump.

For the first shooting (the fatality). The officer shot the guy who was POINTING A LOADED GUN at him and his partner. The gun was recovered at the scene next to the body of the deceased. Not really sure why anyone has an issue with that one.

For the more contentious shooting, there was a vehicle and then foot chase. The guy he was chasing ran through someone’s house and out the back door. The officer followed. The guy running away was grabbing at his waist band. Probably because his pants were falling down. FWIW, more than a few sagging pants wearers have been shot over grabbing at their waistband in those situations. As the officer was on the back porch he heard a loud noise, saw the guy grabbing and thought he was being shot at. So he shot back. It has always been my contention that he probably was startled by the back door slamming and thought it was a gunshot and his brain filled in the rest. Not good but not criminal either. Luckily he missed the guy.

The kicker is that HE PASSED THE POLYGRAPH. He legit believes he was shot at on that day. But the Chief fired him for “untruthfulness” any way. The Chief is a dumb arse. If you are convinced he is lieing to you then fire him. But don’t give him a poly to prove your point and when it doesn’t go your way, fire him anyway. Once he passed the poly, if the Chief thinks the guy is a problem then bury him on desk duty in the motor pool for eternity. This has been clown shoes from the get go.

I think this guy probably shouldn’t be out patrolling but I also don’t think he is some wild eyed killer. Or a liar. I think he got nervous, since he was almost killed by a guy less than a year earlier, and he cranked a round off when he shouldn’t have done so.

Yep. Great post. Anyone trying to make him out to be a murderer is a fricking retard.

The use of the polygraph in this was for just mere show.

It’s basically something that if he did fail, they could use to really try and nail him to the wall but if he passed since it’s not that reliable of a test, it’s now a well, it’s not that reliable of a test and passing doesn’t always mean the truth sort of thing.

Basically just a chess play that didn’t work out for the SJW folks

Race ain't got anything to do with it. The cop shot the citizen in the back while he was running away. Running away does not warrant being murdered from behind.
