Definitely the hippo. Ever seen that hippo vs crocodile NatGeo doc? Those are some bad bad motherfrickers when they're grown.
And I'm pretty sure the hippo started it if there was a fight. Crocs usually yield to them without confrontation.

Hippo meat is delicious. One of the very best.

Hippo all day. They take out like 3000 Africans every year. It's a dangerous animal

The only things that could take a hippo on land is an elephant or a rhino.
In water, an orca or great white or sperm whale or the kracken. That's about it.

We could have had all we could handle too...

In the U.S., Representative Robert F. Broussard of Louisiana introduced the "American Hippo bill" in 1910 to authorize the importation and release of hippopotamus into the bayous of Louisiana. Broussard argued that the hippopotamus would eat the invasive water hyacinth that was clogging the rivers and also produce meat to help solve the American meat crisis. The chief collaborators and proponents of Broussard's bill were Major Frederick Russell Burnham and Captain Fritz Duquesne[82][83] Former President Theodore Roosevelt backed the plan, as did the U.S. Department of Agriculture, The Washington Post, and The New York Times which praised the taste of hippopotamus as "lake cow bacon". The "American Hippo Bill" fell just short of being passed.

Sad part about that story as I'm sure you saw. The rhino had been dehorned to prevent poachers from killing it.

Polar bear can't kill it. Claws aren't long enough, mouth too small, will get crushed.

Hippo could be considered the most dangerous creature on earth.

Great white vs a hippo would be interesting

Holy shite, I can't imagine those things loose in the Louisiana bayous with the locals in their 14 foot flatbottoms.
One of them would eat the other to extinction. I'm not sure which one, though.

FWIW, that article, in addition to the American Hippo Bill, is a fascinating read. Long, but extremely interesting.

Can you imagine these motherfrickers all over the state bayous and estuaries?
Plenty of fishing baws would have gotten fricked up.

Hippo wins because it has a lower center of gravity than the bear.

Hippos would control the planet if humans werent on it

Or on a spit at a tailgate.

On land maybe

This - pissed me off to watch a hornless rhino (with a horn it likely would have won) battle one hippo and potentially two.
