I drove through the Arctic to Deadhorse several years ago. The coast is all controlled by oil companies, so you have to take a tour to Prudhoe Bay. Before my tour group got out of the vehicle the guide had to check around for polar bears.
The do tell us to never lock doors though in case someone needs to get a quick escape from a Bear all the trucks are unlocked or are at least supposed to be

I would most certainly ensure the carcass was transported back home with me so I could either: (1) taxidermy it; or (2) make a big ole p-bear rug for the office at home.

Hippos account for the most deaths by a mammal. Mosquitoes, snakes and crocodiles kill far more than hippos.

Not even close. Dogs easily as far as mammals go (excluding other humans). Hell, just the pit bull itself kills more humans annually than hippos.

Hippos kill about 500 per year, pitbulls 30-50. You’re not very good at math or knowing what you’re talking about.

pretty solid own here for a monday morning.
although it looks like pitbull global statistics arent available, i think it's a safe bet that more than 500 of the 58000 are pits or pit-adjacent.
