Spyderco
These look solid but are kind of pricey for a pocket knife.
Worth the extra money?
Have a good weight and feel?

It depends on what you decide to go with. Blade/handle material, locking style, etc. The Tenacious was $20 on Amazon. It's a little big, but I carry it everyday and I don't mind being rough with it due to how inexpensive it was.

Swiss Army Manager for $27 lives on my key ring. A hair thicker than the classic, but much better. Basically switches out the crappy toothpick for a built in pen that isn't too bad in a pinch and adds a magnetic Philips head screwdriver with bottle opener and wire stripper. Got mine for Christmas and I have used it a couple times every week. The lifetime warranty is nice.
ETA: They make one called the midnite manager that swaps the tweezers for an led light, but I use the tweezers.

Kershaw
ETA: I always have my leatherman wave in my truck, or whenever I'm hunting.

I've had several spydercos. Solid knives, I just have a knack for losing them. Decided to get the Opinel cause it was only $40. I won't be as pissed if I lose this one.

I have two Spydercos, an old fully serrated Delica and a Native. The Native is a solid knife, holds an edge very well, carries nicely in jeans. Delica was great, but that fully serrated blade is a bitch to try to sharpen.
My EDC right now is a Benchmade 530.
Its light and very thin so easy to wear in dress pants. Great knife. Lost a mini griptillian in a cab in NOLA.

Yes, a good knife is worth the extra money.

Been carrying a cheap Kershaw from Academy since I broke my RUKO in early fall.. For years good knives were kind of my default birthday/Christmas/ Father's Day gift but my people have moved on to other gifts. I think I'm gonna try one of these Benchmark's that seem so highly regarded.

I agree. Cheap knives will not stand up to the rigors of every day use. The only reason to purchase a cheap knife is if you are bad about losing them.
