I wouldn't be upset, but I would assume that you are very, very weird.

And I say that as someone who is a strict constitutionalist.

I wouldn't do this, but calling the Constitution "political ideology" is a wild take

As a parent would you be upset if your kid went trick or treating to a house and got a bag of candy and a pocket constitution?

"upset"? No. Just annoyed.

We've got 99.9999% of the rest of the year to talk about government and left/right and whatever. Halloween is an ever so brief time when kids get to dress up and play and imagine and get candy and have the time of their lives. There's no need to foul that up with other shite trying to make some kind of statement.

Why can’t people just give out candy or turn off their porch light? Participate in the event or don’t. People want candy and scares, nothing else

yeah I'd be aggravated if people were handing religious texts to my kids. Let the parents handle that.

I was sent a box full of pocket constitutions and constitutional facts by our Corp. to handout on 10/17.

I get it, but they came to MY door unsolicited. I did not seek them out. They came to me.

ETA: I haven't done this. Just posing a hypothetical...)

I understand the sentiment but I wouldn't want to symbolically associate the constitution with Trick or Treating, scary images, and gluttony.
You're much better off buying quality used books, putting Constitution copies in them, and placing them in the Little Free Libraries.

is it? it was written based upon the political ideology of great men, who wrote into canon a political ideology to reshape the world in beautiful way. I think the US Constitution is a prime example of political ideology.

I mean, it's Halloween. Go for the full sized/extra big candy and leave it at that. It's once a year and lots of kids really do look forward to it.

I think both sides of the aisle are guilty of cherry picking the constitution for their benefit.

I wouldn't be mad, but it would go in the trash like all the other dumb shite people give out to signal their virtues.

Yes. Halloween is for candy. Don't give my kid anything else. If you want to give out constitutions, give it to the parents.

If your porch light is on during trick or treat hours on Halloween, you have 100% solicited their coming to you for candy and nothing else. Anything you do outside of that is being weird at best and a dick at worst.

How about passing out a page about the evolution of Halloween and All Saints Day?

Maybe dunk the neighborhood witch (Karen) and leave the body out until next Halloween?

Just give the kids candy and be done. Let Halloween be Halloween.
