Could be a staging area. Haven't seen much their lately, but after Ida they were doing some refueling and just general staging.

If that thing is on fire it must've hit pretty damned hard.

I’m shocked the body/bodies aren’t burned.

It’s registered to 15555 airline hwy in BR, it comes back to Lemoine Company and Five-S Group. Not sure which one is current.

Bell 407, privately owned, possibly based out of BTR, not police or medical.

I saw a helicopter leaving from the Five-S location off of Airline and Highland earlier and it was headed in the direction of New Orleans. Very possible this is the same helicopter. Prayers for all affected,

From the looks of it all they need is a couple of shovels and some brooms and that section of interstate will open right back up.

There is a high-voltage 230 kV power line that crosses the interstate just past Laplace that I believe is connected to Waterford 3. It is right at the SW 'corner' of the lake at the beginning of the spillway (heading east).

It goes from little gypsy to university city over in Kenner

Bell 407 seats 7 including the pilot if they are flying it single pilot.

We have been grounded since early this morning because of fog/weather/ceiling and visibility issues. No way that aircraft should have been there playing IFR "I follow Roads"
